Pastor Doug Batchelor - 12/22/13 12:24 AM

Pastor Batchelor announced at the end of the church service today that Jan. 18th 2014 will be his last Sabbath as Senior Pastor at Sacramento SDA Church. I guess more news about this will be forthcoming.

Daryl nothing has changed with Amazing Facts. He has said he is just stepping down as Senior Pastor of Sacramento Central SDA Church.

Well, I hope we hear something soon.

Have any statements been released to explain why he is stepping down as senior pastor?

As Avalee attends that church, perhaps she can answer that question.

Sounds like Amazing Facts is simply moving to Doug's other church in Granite Bay pending the acquisition of equipment and the building of adequate facilities.

Didn't at least some of the equipment, if not even most of the equipment, already belong to Amazing Facts?

Pastor Doug Batchelor is the Head Pastor for the Granite Bay Seventh-day Adventist Church. As president of Amazing Facts, he can be seen on national cable networks and heard on more than 125 radio stations across the United States. He is also becoming increasingly popular around the world by those who see him on international satellite and cable stations. ( Find stations in your area.)

Doug and his wife Karen have five children. Currently living in Sacramento, his hobbies include guitar, scuba diving, and racquetball. Like his father, he is also an aviation enthusiast and pilot. His other books include To See the King, How to Survive and Thrive in Church, and The Truth About Mary Magdalene, The Woman at Jesus’ Feet.
Nice to see he is still around smile He is doing the Sabbath school service today at Sac Central then preaching at Granite Bay church."

I got this from Adventist Online. Supposedly, Pastor Doug wants to move his recording and Amazing Facts ministry there.

Unfortunately Doug Batchelor is one of those "ordained" ministers whose ordination is not acknowledged everywhere in the world field. His preaching is regarded by some divisions as being too independent to speak for all Seventh-day Adventists.

That is terrible news Johann. Do you have any knowledge of what messages these other divisions are so concerned about?

Re: Pastor Doug Batchelor - 02/12/14 07:33 AM

It is worthy of note that these "other divisions" reject many more than Doug Batchelor. David Gates, Walter Veith and a few others come to mind. If he were not the General Conference president, Elder Ted Wilson would likely make the list. Anyone who speaks their true convictions without watering down their messages to soothe the itching ears of the people are in danger of becoming ostracized in these regions of our church. Is it any wonder that they are foremost among those who would rebel against the World Church?

As Mrs. White has indicated, the very ones who most need a message will be the most likely to reject it.

Blessings,

Green Cochoa.
