Hidden Things Of Dishonesty

Sometimes, we men get caught up in yelling at our wives when we come home from work, and they're not fresh as a daisy, and as positive as Dale Carnegie. We can develop a repetitive pattern of thinking that can seriously harm the marriage relationship. This poem takes a little picture of that.

“Hidden Things Of Dishonesty” (2 Cor.4:2)

I remember the life as I collect my thoughts
I remember when the times were well
I’m caught in the vice; I’m living lots
In the moments I remember as hell

White heat pours quietly into my soul
As I fall apart in front of my eyes
My patience eats like a burning coal
The march is on with the hopeless lies

I’ve always been the solid, steady rock
Would never think to cry or hate or fight
But the cross has come and taken stock
God’s Word has seen my pretense of might(Heb.4:12)

The Robin red - breast, our God gave to sing
“Mercy is here to say ‘beautiful son,’”
But I kick her away to avoid the hurting
‘Cause I’m caught in sin and feel undone

I go on and on with insistent friction
The falsehood picks and points and prys
Leaves me with belief of cruel restriction
I hate it when I hear complaints and crys.

So the hopeless lies come out with a blast
Why do I say these things about you?
The evil lies in me come out with a blast
Yet things of God can be found in you too.

This poem tells me how much we need the Holy Spirit's help to become the overcomers that Christ calls us to be.
