The Meaning Of A Rose

I wrote this poem when I was in school. I love to draw roses and the thought that Jesus had a crown of thorns made me want to write this.

The Meaning Of A Rose

A rose is a symbol
A symbol of peace
A symbol of love
A symbol of hope

To some the blossoms are the best
To others the leaves
But to me
The thorns stand out above the rest

Jesus had a crown of gold
But he gave his life for young and old
He didn't have a golden crown
He had a crown of thorns

That is why
I love the thorns the most
For when I look at a rose
I remember that He died for you and me
