We need more Childrens' Stories! - 02/23/02 03:24 AM

I know I don't post very often (and probably should!) but I like telling Children's Story on Sabbath... we need more on here to help us along when we're out of ideas!

Speaking of which, I'll post my baseball story before I forget it. After Sabbath is over, anyways.

The sun is just setting now and I'll use the Pear Necklace story tomorrow - wish I came up with something original though.

I remember telling my daughters stories from the bible.
One of their favorites was about Zacheus.
They could sympathize with his problems because of his small stature.
My youngest was the reason for this story, she had a picture of him in a tree that she had received in Sabbath School.
She wanted to know why he was in the tree, she didn't understand why an adult would climb a tree.

It is easy to take a character from the bible and tell a story about them.
Just put it into a form they can understand and identify with.
I told them about how the bigger adults treated him, pushing him around, and they could identify with that.
Course, I like to tell stories, especially if they are true and give a lesson in treating each other with respect.
