Update On Howard - 10/10/02 08:20 AM

Hi everyone!

Sorry for taking so long (again!) to update. Your prayers are definitely being heard and God is good! Howard is now able to use his hands and arms extensively. He is able to roll from back to stomach with very little assistance, maintain his balance sitting on a therapy mat, raise the head of his bed and then use his hands to bring each leg up in turn and put his own pants on and then his shirt, almost transfer himself from bed to wheelchair!!! God is so incredible! I had very low expectations in the beginning because you can't survive something like this expecting a full recovery. You just have to place your faith and your lives in God's hands and let Him do the work. So every miracle that occurs in Howard's recovery is icing on the cake. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Howard does have a pressure ulcer so he is bed bound for a few days as to not exacerbate it. We pray that it heals cleanly and does not cause more damage.

We thank you all for your love and support. I will try to update again soon.

God bless,
Wendy

Is Howard at home or still in the hospital.

The reason I am asking is that when home this might help his pressure sores.

In the hospital they might not try honey in pressure sores, but at home there is less "redtape". Plus when talking to local bee-keepers, local varities of medical grade honey might be found. [Razz] Just trying to "sweeten" things up. [Tasty] - "Howard - pass the toast. "

Hi Ed:)

Howard is in a nursing home waiting for his wrist to heal. Then he goes back to the hospital for three months of therapy. I'll check out those links but the best method is prevention. The nursing home was lax in their efforts. Have to run kids to school now, but will write more later. [Smile]

God bless,
Wendy

Wendy,

I am so happy and thankful to hear that Howard is improving beyond initial espectation for nothing is impossible for the Lord to accomplish especially when we fortify it with prayer for prayer does change things. [Smile]

Howard don't hang in there. DO CHINUPS AND CURLS FROM THE OVERHEAD BARS & CABLES. It worked for Clint Eastwood's co-star in "any which way but loose." He was an orangatang (but that's just a technicality [Big Grin] Make life work for you instead of you working for it. I was a Shriners kid, cerebral palsy - never supposed to walk. When life gives you lemons - trade some of them in for limes, tomatoes & onions & peppers & seasonings and make salsa. Keep some of the lemons & make lemon sorbet & chutney & lemonaid. Plant the seeds and raise a lemon grove. Then barter & trade for tofu & avacado trees & expand your orchard.
