Catholics Unite Against Enemies! - 12/02/17 08:43 PM

Here are a few excerpts from Life Site News that seem quite timely considering worldwide current events:

"Catholics to pray rosary across U.S. to protect nation from ‘Islamic jihad’ and ‘abortion".

"SANTA PAULA, California, December 1, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — There will be a mass rosary service throughout the United States on December 12, the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, inspired “100 percent” by the Rosary on the Borders in Poland."

"The intention of the prayers will be “to ask Our Lady to save the USA from Islamic jihad, from the denial of the Christian faith, and for an end of abortion.”"

{“Islamic Jihad", "denial of Christian faith", "end of abortion", what denomination would refuse to unite in the fight against these evils?}

"The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe was chosen for a few reasons. First, the only Marian apparition in the New World pronounced authentic by the Catholic Church was witnessed in Villa de Guadalupe in 1531. Next, Pius XII named Our Lady of Guadalupe the Patroness of the Americas in 1946. Finally, an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was taken by Don Juan of Austria’s Christian army into the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. The Battle of Lepanto represented a major defeat to the Ottoman Empire."

The New World’s Lady sailed to confront jihad in the Old World,” Lemmon said. “Is this not mind-blowing? That battle, against all odds, saved Europe from imminent invasion. … As Don Juan fought under that banner, the pope prayed the rosary.

{What is being suggested here? The United States fighting a European war at the behest of the Papacy?}

"And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed." Revelation 13:15

I don't remember hearing anything about this on CNN, on our own CBC and CTV networks.

I get the impression that it is a grassroots movement.
It is interesting to see what the laity are thinking.

It is obviously below the radar of the news networks.

Our Lady of Guadeloupe is more of a Spanish/Mexican local image and veneration for the Virgin Mary, so I doubt the English speaking media would pick it up... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_of_Guadalupe

Yes, thanks for sharing. I hadn't seen this even in alternative news sites, most of which deal too much in conspiracies but they do get out important information as well.

I doubt that this would make big news ==
as most people see no problem with apparitions of the dead appearing and Catholic signs and wonders having anything to do with the last day crises.
Many aren't even sure if these things are authentic.

But there are a few who give the warning message:
Try "Queen of All" by Jim Tetlow et.al.

Is it a "grass roots" movement?

Well it has deeply affected many of the common people.
There is enough evidence that these appearances of supernatural "mary" are real.
But it goes much higher than the common people, it is embraced by leaders in Catholicism. Their doctrines laid the ground work for Christians to accept the manifestations. There is constant appeals, and confirmations that they have done so, for the Popes are dedicating themselves to "mary" and seeking to do her will, and their subordinates dedicating themselves, whole cities and countries and the whole world to Mary.
Basically giving these "marys" the license to highly influence the world!
Secondly -- or rather primarily and most serious -- it is a spiritualistic thing that far transcends Catholicism. Muslims, Hindus, Protestants, by the millions make regular pilgrimages to see this "full of light" beautiful lady and listen to her messages. The mother with child symbol, who is considered queen of heaven, fits into all their belief systems. It is a very cleaver way to bring all these religions together.

The name -- Our Lady of Guadalupe means -- She who crushes the serpent.

But according to scripture it is the offspring of the woman, not the woman who crushes the serpent.

I think we will be seeing a lot more of these apparitions, they deceive with a power that far transcends human teaching.

I'm not sure where you got this idea from, as I was unable to locate a single reference to support this.

Please provide a reference.

Not sure why you couldn't find it. Maybe you have to believe you can find it.
A quick search reveals:
https://www.catholic.org/about/guadalupe.php
It's believed that the word Guadalupe was actually a Spanish mis-translation of the local Aztec dialect. The word that Mary probably used was Coatlallope which means "one who treads on snakes"!

ah, thank you for that clarification. An extensive Google search yielded nothing.

So in reality "Our Lady of Guadalupe" does not ACTUALLY mean "One who treads on snakes," but rather "It's believed that the word Guadalupe was actually a Spanish mis-translation of the local Aztec dialect. The word that Mary probably used was Coatlallope which means "one who treads on snakes"! (from the website you provided: https://www.catholic.org/about/guadalupe.php)

Just for clarity.

I also maintain that this is not a common understanding of the meaning, since no other sites referenced it.

In the book "The Thunder of Justice" by Flynn
--a Catholic book dealing with the apparitions of Mary --
you will find, that "Our Lady of Guadalupe" does mean "She Who Crushes the Serpent"". (the Catholics ascribe that meaning to the apparition called "Lady of Guadalope" whether the actual place name means it or no. That title is given to the apparition.

See pages 21
"Our Lady of Guadalope means, She Who Crushes the Serpent...Our Lady crushed the serpent in the Americas, ending the brutal Aztec practice of human sacrifice. The role of Our Lady of Guadalupe in this century is to crush the seprent and end our own era's resumption of human sacrifice-- through approved abortion.".

Then on pages 125-128 It tells the whole story of her miraculous appearance that convinced the Indians to start honoring her and being "converted". Then in 1990 she started appearing in Seattle asking that all the pro-lifers be assembled under her banner as "Protector of the Unborn".

You'll find the title in many web pages dealing with the apparitions of Mary.

They believe it is Mary, not Jesus, who crushes the head of the serpent.

Excepting a "Catholic" site. At least a "single reference", you so emphasized.
Do you think a Catholic site, whether agreeing with you or not, may have some bearing of importance on what they think "Our Lady of Guadalupe" means?
