THE COUNTERFEIT KINGDOM

It is both literal
as well as spiritual.


Having been in association with young people, I noticed what kind of books were very popular among them. Fiction books by the dozens, all built on the same theme -- a great battle for the kingdom of this world.
As I picked up several and read the back cover page it sent chills -- for they were all dealing with the Great Controversy issue IN REVERSE.

The prince of this world was being pictured as threatened. A powerful king (from another realm) was approaching earth and people were being enlisted to resist Him, and save the earth from the utter destruction His coming would bring.

It recalled to my mind the quotation --
"he does not acknowledge himself to be Satan. He claims to be the prince who is the rightful owner of the world and whose inheritance has been unlawfully wrested from him. He represents himself to his deluded subjects as a redeemer, assuring them ...that he is about to rescue them from the most cruel tyranny. GC 663

While this quote is in the setting of his last battle against the New Jerusalem come down from heaven. It obviously and strikingly applies to his efforts previous to Christ's second coming as well.

Thus the study ---

The counterfeit kingdom.

Satan’s aim is to establish a kingdom where he is worshipped as the true god.

Isaiah 14:13,14 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

In these verses we are introduced to what bible scholars call the five “I wills” that Satan uses to describe his counterfeit kingdom:
1. I will ascend to the heavens.
2. I will raise my throne above the stars of God.
3. I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, in the sides of the North.
4. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds.
5. I will make myself like the Most High.

The sentence we will look at is #3
His aim is to be enthroned on the mount of assembly, in the sides of the North.

The Bible speaks of the Sides of the North as being a holy realm, Mount Zion.

Psalms 48:2 “Beautiful in elevation, The joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, The city of the great King.”

We read in Patriarchs and Prophets p. 539 that the children of Israel would sing these words from the Psalms as they approached Jerusalem to partake in the annual festivals.

Jerusalem was God’s chosen city to which not only the children of Israel came to worship, but to which the nations were to come to seek God. To this city and it’s surrounding areas came the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

Had the Jewish nation accepted Christ as their Messiah, their city would have been a light to the whole world.
Because they rejected the Prince of Life, their city would not – could not be the light to world, it was desolate.

“Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. Matt.23:38.

And that desolation remains until the consummation when the earth is made new.
Daniel 9:27 "for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

Yet God’s promises will be fulfilled. His truth did go forth out of Jerusalem by the faithful remnant that did accept Him and filled with the Holy Spirit they took the gospel to the world. And the promises will be fulfilled completely in the New Jerusalem when it descends from heaven after the 1000 years and settles in the area now known as Palestine. The New Jerusalem is so big, it will cover the entire area of Palestine! And there we see the final fulfilment of the wonderful promises as the Revelator tells us:

Revelation 1:24-26 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

BUT BACK TO PRESENT DAY JERUSALEM:

The earthly place where God chose to meet with His people in OT times, and where the New Jerusalem will stand after the 1000 years, is the place where Satan aims to be enthroned so he can deceive not only the people of the world but also the congregations that come to worship God.

We read in Revelation that in the last days the nations won’t be flocking to Jerusalem to find truth, rather they will be worshipping the beast and the dragon! Indeed this is a serious issue?

Revelation 13:3-4, 11-12 “And I saw one of his (the beast’s) heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast . And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast?”

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.”

Next let's turn to Daniel chapter eleven, concerning the “king of the North” planting his tabernacles” between the seas in the glorious holy mountain”.

Who is the king of the north?
The king of the North in the second half of Daniel 11 refers to the Christian confederacy under the papal head. It’s referring to the same identity as the “beasts” of Revelation 13.
The king of the South refers to the Islamic Power. Both these “kings” have been waging war against each other for the last 1400 years! And interestingly we note that most of their wars against each other have been over Jerusalem. The many crusades the RRC sent to Jerusalem during the Middle Ages were meant to recapture the city of Jerusalem. The papacy (king of the north) sees this city as being very important to the future.

A kingdom in old Jerusalem.

Daniel 11:40-45 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. He shall enter also into the glorious land,..... And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

SATAN TRIES TO MIRROR EVERYTHING GOD DOES

A counterfeit does its best to look identical to the real; but like the image in a mirror which looks like the real image, yet it is not the real image, it reverses everything.

How does Satan attempt to mirror what God does?
1. Mirrors the three powers. God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit, are counterfeited by the dragon (father) beast (son) and false prophet (spirit).

2. Mirrors miracles and signs. Christ performed many miracles of healing, feeding the five thousand, etc. and many believed because of this. In the last days we have the counterfeit:
Rev. 16:14 “the spirits of devils, working miracles,”
Matt. 24,24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

3. Mirrors fire from heaven. In the old testament we have the account of Elijah on Mt. Carmel, praying for fire to come down from heaven and burn up the sacrifice to prove that Jehovah God was the true God. In the last days we have the counterfeit:
Rev. 13:13-14 And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do
This will be a supernatural event.

4. Gathering the nations into Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 3:17 “At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.”
We know from Rev. 21 to 22 that this promise will be fulfilled in the New Jerusalem after the 1000 years. But before the 1000 years, just before Christ’s second coming we see a counterfeit:

Revelation 16:13-14 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet:
for they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Notice WHO is doing the “gathering”. This is not the nations coming against Jerusalem, this is the “Christian” nations doing the gathering. The “beast”-- papal power, the false prophet, --the protestant false prophetic teachers; inspired and empowered (working miracles) by the wrong spirits are doing the gathering. They are gathering the nations against TRUE WORSHIP! They are gathering them into FALSE WORSHIP.

This is all part of Lucifer’s ultimate aim, “to be enthroned on the mount of assembly, in the sides of the North” (Is. 14:14)and to be the “invisible” king in the city known as “Beautiful in elevation, The joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, The city of the great King.” (Psalms 48:2)

For he is orchestrating the movement of the “king of the north” to “plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain” (Daniel 11:45) and have the whole world “worship(ing) the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worship(ing) the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast. (Rev. 13:4)


To more fully understand the false gathering, we need to consider the true literal gathering of God’s people.
Luke 13:26-27 “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. “
2 Thess. 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

Notice in the true gathering of the saints at the end times, The Lord is seen coming in the clouds, and the angels will gather the followers of Christ from all over the earth. They are not in a central place at all – they are all over the earth.


5. Counterfeiting the time of trouble
This counterfeit is real as far as it being a time of trouble is concerned, it will be terrible times, however, it is not the “time of trouble” as revealed in scripture. Scripture reveals a time of trouble when Satan goes forth with great fury against God’s commandment keeping people. (See Rev. 12:17) The counterfeit will be trouble for the beast and false prophet that will provide the catalyst for them to emerge in great power and bring on the real time of trouble for those who refuse to worship the beast and his image, and accept their counterfeit kingdom.
The RRC teaches this counterfeit time of trouble as the “Great Chastisement” .

According to their visionaries:
“Religion shall be persecuted, priests massacred. Churches closed but only for a short time. The Holy Father shall be obliged to leave Rome....After Saint peter and Saint Paul having come down from Heaven, shall preach in the whole world and designate a new Pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and will settle upon the cardinal who is to become Pope. Christianity then will spread throughout the world. He is the Holy Pontiff, chosen by God to withstand the storm. He will have the gift of miracles, and his name shall be praised over the whole earth. Whole nations will come back to the [RCC] Church and the earth will be renewed.” (Flynn, “Thunder of Justice”, page 354)

That’s just one example from the numerous beliefs held by the “false three” – the one thing they have in common is that there will be a lot of trouble out of which miraculously will appear the peaceful kingdom.

6. Satan attempts to replicate righteousness!
2 Cor. 11:13-15 “For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness;”

The counterfeit will bring in many reforms, speak against sin and evil, and encourage and enforce worship. It even speaks against the devil (as seen in the Marion messages) Only the wise will see its digressions from true righteousness.


SUMMARY of this part of the study:

1. Satan’s aim -- I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, in the sides of the North. Is. 14:14
To sit in that city which the Psalmist describes: Psalms 48:2 “Beautiful in elevation, The joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north,

2. The geographical area which God honored in the OT, and where after the 1000 years the New Jerusalem which comes down from heaven will settle, is the coveted site where Satan hopes to deceive the whole world into worshipping him.

3. Daniel 11:40-45 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north (the confederated Christianity under papal head) shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. He shall enter also into the glorious land,..... And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain;
4. Revelation 16:13-14 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet:
for they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

This is their desperate attempt to set up a kingdom on earth in defiance against God. Satan claims he is the true prince of this world and to him belongs the homage due to God.
And he, through the power he gives to the beast and false prophet attempts to set up a kingdom that to the undiscerning will appear as the kingdom of God.

“Satan determines to unite them in one body, and thus strengthen his cause by sweeping all into the ranks of Spiritualism. Papists, who boast of miracles as a certain sign of the true church, will be readily deceived by this wonder-working power; and Protestants, having cast away the shield of truth, will also be deluded. Papists, Protestants, and worldlings will alike accept the form of godliness
without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world, and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium.” GC 588

MATT. 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.



The gospel of the kingdom that is to go to all the world and then Christ will come (See Matt. 24:14) is not a visible literal kingdom, but a kingdom that is to grow WITHIN a person.
It is the cleansing, gospel of grace that transforms a person into a child of God - a citizen of the heavenly kingdom.



Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God comes not with observation:
17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
17:22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when you shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
17:23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after [them], nor follow [them].
17:24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.



Notice several things in the passage above

1) The kingdom is not by observation -- in other words don't look for a literal kingdom here on earth prior to Christ's coming. The kingdom now is one that is to be in us -- a kingdom of grace that cleanses the soul.

2) Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Yet the messages we here in many variations and forms is -- Lo here! Lo there! It is focused on a place as God's kingdom on earth.
But the kingdom prior to Christ's coming is not in any place -- it is to be within us.

3) See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
Do not follow anyone to old Jerusalem (or any other place) seeking a kingdom there.
Till Christ comes the only righteous kingdom that is growing is the kingdom of grace, redemption and cleansing of the soul temple -- one that is to be within you.

Dedication, I marvel at the amount of time you spend studying the Bible. What a blessing. Thank you for sharing. May God continue to bless as you dig deeper, ever deeper.

Upon study of the pre-mill report 2, let us compare this report with our report. Dedication has put verses from scripture that appear to point out -no pre-mil kingdom but she has ignored many counter verses that show, without any conditions, the Lord "will" and "shall" do what His word says.

It is very important to let us keep Inspiration here in studying the Scriptures --

"The language of the Bible should be explained according to it's obvious meaning, unless a symbol or figure is employed. Christ has given the promise: "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine." John 7:17. if men would but take the Bible as it reads, if there were no false teachers to mislead and confuse their minds, a work would be accomplished that would make angels glad and that would bring into the fold of Christ thousands upon thousands who are now wandering in error." (GC, p.598-599)

Let us look at what Dedication has reported. Notice that she makes a determination that Isaiah 14:13,14 indicates Satan will set up a kingdom based in the Holy Land. She uses this as foundation for her private interpretation of showing something is not supported by Scripture nor SOP.

Pay careful attention how she has to group together unrelated passages to make her private interpretations!

Now, let us look at what Inspiration says about our subject verse --

"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”(Isaiah 14:13, 14)


"Among the inhabitants of heaven, Satan, next to Christ, was at one time most honored of God, and highest in power and glory. Before his fall, Lucifer, “son of the morning,” was first of the covering cherubs, holy and undefiled. He stood in the presence of the great Creator, and the ceaseless beams of glory enshrouding the eternal God rested upon him.

Little by little, Lucifer came to indulge the desire for self-exaltation. Because of the exaltation of Christ, the One equal with the Father, he allowed jealousy to arise in his heart.
“Why,” he questioned, “should Christ have the supremacy? Why is he honored above Lucifer?”

Tho all his glory was from God, Lucifer came to regard it as pertaining to himself. Not content with his position, tho honored above the heavenly host, he ventured to covet homage due alone to the Creator. Leaving his place in the immediate presence of the Father, he went forth to diffuse the spirit of discontent among the angels.

He worked with mysterious secrecy, and for a time concealed his real purpose under an appearance of reverence for God. He began to insinuate doubts concerning the laws that governed heavenly beings,—laws that he declared were arbitrary, detrimental to the interests of the heavenly universe, and in need of change. Vital interests were at stake.

Would Lucifer succeed in undermining confidence in God’s law? Would he make so apparent these supposed defects in the law, that the inhabitants of the heavenly universe would be justified in claiming that the law could be improved?

By his rebellion against God’s law, Satan brought sin into existence; for “sin is the transgression of the law.”
God in His wisdom did not use measures of force to suppress Satan’s rebellion. Such measures would have aroused sympathy for Satan, strengthening his rebellion rather than lessening his power.

If God had at the outset punished his rebellion, many more would have looked upon him as one who had been dealt with unjustly, and would have followed his example. It was necessary for him to have time and opportunity to develop his false principles. There was war in heaven, and the Prince of life overcame the apostate.

Satan was cast out of heaven, with the angels who had united with him. In the beginning God placed man under law, as an indispensable condition of his very existence. He was a subject of the divine government, and there can be no government without law.

The tree of knowledge, which stood near the tree of life in the midst of the garden of Eden, was to be a test of the obedience, faith and love of our first parents. While permitted to eat freely of every other tree, they were forbidden to taste of this, on pain of death.

They were also to be exposed to the temptations of Satan; but if they endured the trial, they would finally be placed beyond his power, to enjoy perpetual favor with God.

On this earth Satan sought to carry forward the work that he began in heaven. He declared that man could not obey the law of God. Approaching our first parents while they were on trial in the garden of Eden, he succeeded by falsehood and misrepresentation in turning them from allegiance to God’s law.

Through their failure to resist temptation, they were brought under Satan’s jurisdiction. Thus the enemy gained supremacy over the human race." (Signs of the Times, July 23, 1902)


What we see here is that Inspiration describes this verse as applying to the past, in the ancient times, when Satan desired to "exalt my throne above the stars of God". No where does Inspiration even touch on an application of this pertaining to Satan's attempt to establish a kingdom in Israel."

Now let us look at what Inspiration says again concerning our key reference here--

".. Satan is spoken to in an address to the king of Babylon: “How art thou fallen from heaven O, Lucifer, son of the morning! [Margin, “day-star.”] How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.”

"Who is this that has fallen from heaven? Jesus uses the same words in Luke 10:18: “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” Isaiah says: “How art thou fallen from heaven O Lucifer!” It is evident that they both refer to the same person. That person Jesus calls Satan.

This, then, was the original condition of Satan, this the exalted position which he once occupied, high and glorious, near the throne of God. The Lord created him, and placed him there. He was wise, beautiful, holy, and happy.

Alas, that sin should come in, to destroy such a character! Alas, that rebellion should blot so fair a universe! But so it was. Even while we are contemplating this picture, the scene is changed, oh, how changed! Evil thoughts brood in Lucifer’s mind. A dark cloud is gathering. Whispers of discontent are heard, insubordination is talked, till at length, O woful day! rebellion, dark, deep, wicked rebellion, bursts upon the astonished inhabitants of heaven.

And since the day that iniquity entered his heart, and he set himself in opposition to God, he has left no wile untried to lead others to follow him in the way of rebellion. No one has been free from his assaults, no one so exalted in position, no one so wise and gifted, but Satan has endeavored to lead him astray.

How necessary the exhortation of the Saviour, to watch and pray lest we enter into temptation. How timely the admonition of the servant of God, “Let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.” (Angels, page 59-60)

Here again our subject reference is discussed in the light that it concerned the time of Satan, in heaven , when he declared in his heart that he was to be exalted.

So please keep in mind that once a report like Dedications shows a blatant error, subscribing God's true intent of a Scripture, to a private interpretation, then we can be sure, other places in this report will likely not add up as well. Be careful!

She is attempting to fight God's plan of His pre-mil kingdom ,by promoting a false idea of the end times in the Holy Land as clearly said by Scripture. All we are asked is to weigh it all out and then decide.

I am always open to hearing truth as expounded by my brothers and sister BUT if one attempts to make a truth not backed by Inspiration, as Dedication does here, we must not fall for it.

If she has a real reference showing that Satan will establish a kingdom in Israel in the last days show us, but don't try and use Isaiah 14:13, 14 as one of your foundations to establish your idea.

By the way Daniel 11:45 has nothing to do with Satan establishing his kingdom in Israel in the period of the Loud Cry. This is another study in itself.

As far as I'm concerned Houteff gives his "private interpretation" of both scripture and EGW.


Also notice how emphatic the SR are when they THINK a quote from EGW proves their point, yet how they will push her aside and cry "Bible only" or "she didn't know" when quotes are brought forth that show they are NOT teaching the same understanding of scripture as EGW presents.

SATAN'S AMBITIONS STATED IN ISAIAH 14

What is even more surprising, it seems GLL is denying that Satan's aim is to be worshipped as God by the human race?
Does he think Satan ONLY wanted that kind of worship and exaltation while still in heaven?

Isn't it a "private interpretation" to LIMIT the text in Isaiah 14, concerning Satan's ambitions, to what happened in heaven?
After all, EGW isn't giving an exegesis on the text in the passages quoted, she is presenting events which took place in heaven which started the whole sin mess.

What happened in heaven was only the beginning of Satan's deviations into trying to usurp God's position and be a law unto himself, and gather the worship of the angels unto himself.
And he won't give up until the fire devours him.

Satan's whole aim is STILL to receive the worship due only to God --

" He (Satan) considered that to be the god of this world was the next best thing to gaining possession of the throne of God in heaven."(EGW in Review and Herald, Apr. 14, 1896).

That's what the whole "counterfeit religion" is all about. Setting up a pope who claims some kind of equality with God, and thinks this gives him the right to change God's law.

Who is behind all that?

Remember Revelation 13
13:4 And they worshipped the dragon (Satan) which gave power unto the beast (counterfeit worship system) and they worshipped the beast.


Go to Revelation 13 and 14 and count how many times the word "worship" is used.

Indeed -- the dragon seeks the worship that is due ONLY TO GOD.



SPIRITUALISM LEADING PEOPLE IN THE LAST DAYS

As noted in the quote above:
"As the second appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ draws near, satanic agencies are moved from beneath. Not only will Satan appear as a human being, but he will personate Jesus Christ"

Shepherd Rod followers believe that many dead will be resurrected to help give the "loud cry".

Now we believe in a special resurrection (Daniel 12:2) But that resurrection takes place during the seventh plague, after probation has closed and Christ has left the sanctuary. (see GC 637)

Notice ALL who have died in the faith of the third angel's message come forth [b]AT THAT TIME.

But SR believers have some coming up long before that and leading the people to Palestine.
Who will be leading people to Palestine?



Not Christ's followers -- they know that anyone saying -- the kingdom is over there, or see the kingdom over here, are all wrong.
The only righteous kingdom growing on earth NOW is the kingdom of grace in the hearts and lives of God's people.





Yes, people desire a literal "kingdom" on earth, but Christ says,
John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom.

They want a "Barabbas" to rule over them.
Barabbas was a counterfeit "messiah" working to free Israel from the Romans.
And in the last days people will again choose a Barabbas to bring in a counterfeit kingdom, instead of waiting for Christ to come and take them to the TRUE glorious kingdom that will last forever.

Daniel 11:45
Tells us the king of the North (The papal led confederacy) shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain.

But his kingdom shall come to it's end.

The above quote is speaking against the doctrine of the earthly millennium kingdom, but the concepts apply to ANY teaching that pushes the "loud cry" or converting of the nations, to a time of a supposed literal kingdom of righteousness.


When Christ STANDS UP, probation is finished, and the plagues are poured out.


THE COUNTERFEIT KINGDOM is planted with headquarters in Palestine -- this is done to deceive the masses in the whole world into thinking it is God's kingdom, for indeed a lot of God's dealings with His people centered in the area of Palestine. And it will come after a lot of turmoil and upheaval in the world. But though it is the right place (God's New Jerusalem will one day stand there as the capital city of God) yet it is the WRONG TIME and WRONG king, and WRONG kingdom.

Even though in many ways it will SEEM to be the answer to the worlds problems, and it will SEEM to be worshipping God.

But let's look at those verses --

AT THE TIME OF THE END

11:40 And at the time of the end

We know this is speaking of the end of time, for Daniel's visions outline the progress of history from his time to the consummation. These verses are speaking of the "time of the end".

THERE WILL BE A LOT OF TURMOIL

Verses 40 -44 speak of conflict -- the king of the South pushes, the king of the North over runs the lands of the King of the South, and goes on a wild killing spree to get the world under his thumb.

This links to what we read in Revelation 13--
--that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.




11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

WHY DOES HE COME TO HIS END?

12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of thy people:

and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time:

THE SEVEN LAST PLAGUES ARE POURED OUT ON THIS COUNTERFEIT KINGDOM.

16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.



This is a work we are to do NOW,
don't wait for some elusive kingdom

The "temporal kingdom" idea is really no different than the "millennium kingdom" idea -- as both think the nations will be converted from some "righteous literal, geographical kingdom" that first needs to be established.

There' plenty of inspired writings warning against that.

If we want to "shine as the stars" forever -- we need to shine for Christ NOW.

Ded- What is even more surprising, it seems GLL is denying that Satan's aim is to be worshipped as God by the human race?

Private interpretation is what you are doing. Taking Isaiah 14 and using it to promote a "private "idea that it supports Satan's idea to establish a kingdom in Israel. But make no mistake the Elijah message DOES teach that Satan shall have his false kingdom, but not based in Israel. It's you who falsely claims this!

Please take note brethren, she diverts the real issue here. That is I asked her to show just ONE Inspired writing (Scripture-SOP) to support Isaiah 14 shows that Satan will establish a kingdom "sides of the north" in Israel.

You simply toss that scripture aside as "being unrelated". However, is it unrelated?
This is what the Israelites sang as they would approach Jerusalem to engage in their festivals. (see PP 539)
They saw it as referring to Jerusalem.

Satan says:
Is. 14:13 I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Yes, in heaven he aspired to sit on the heavenly Mt. Zion, in the "heavenly sides of the north".

But -- as I quoted:
" He considered that to be the god of this world was the next best thing to gaining possession of the throne of God in heaven. In a large measure he has been successful in his plans. When Jesus was on earth Satan led the people to reject the Son of God and to choose Barabbas, who in character represented Satan, the god of this world. {CTr 274.3}

"..Barabbas, who was under sentence of death. This man had claimed to be the Messiah. He claimed authority to establish a different order of things, to set the world right. ... He had done wonderful things through satanic agencies, he had gained a following among the people, and had excited sedition against the Roman government." DA 733

Some even say his name was Jesus Barabbas which means "son of the father". Whether Jesus was his first name I don't know , but the point still is clear that Barabbas was a COUNTERFEIT Messiah, who was bent on establishing an earthly kingdom in Jerusalem. Those who chose him instead of Christ, whose kingdom is not of this present world, lost out on the "kingdom" of eternity.

The same will be in the end --
A counterfeit king, a counterfeit kingdom, and to make it seem like the real thing, it will be in what the Bible describes as the "sides of the north" "between the seas on the glorious mountain". (The right place, at the WRONG TIME)

Daniel 11 is an historical account of literal kings and places. Persian kings, Alexander the Great, the Seleucid and Ptolemy kings, the Romans, the Papacy and all their wars etc.
Thus it only makes sense that the last verses are also literal wars. The king of the North is the Papal confederacy.

And the counterfeit kingdom plants its headquarters between the seas on the glorious mountain.


No, EGW does not mention that,
Nor does she teach any theocracy in Jerusalem.
BUT
she does tell us that JERUSALEM will never be rebuilt.

"Then I was pointed to some who are in the great error of believing that it is their duty to go to Old Jerusalem, and think they have a work to do there before the Lord comes. Such a view is calculated to take the mind and interest from the present work of the Lord, under the message of the third angel" EW 75


Again that is swept aside as saying she was talking about the Zionist movement -
But that would be saying she is a false prophet -- for the Zionist movement is rebuilding Jerusalem.

Or it is swept aside as if she is saying don't both to try and convert the Jews. But that is in direct opposition to much she has written that "The Jews are to be a power to labor for" RH June 29, 1905

No -- she warns -- don't think you need to go to Jerusalem thinking you have a work to do there before the Lord comes.
The situation WAS not "unconverted Zionists" the situation was a call to Adventists to go to Jerusalem and start building up a remnant of both converted Jews and Adventists to welcome Jesus to His capital.

She calls it "a great error"
James White calls it "heresy"

Why would they use such strong language?

The Bible also warns --
Speaking of the kingdom. When people say "over there, or "here" DON'T believe it, don't go. (see Luke 17:20-24)

As the light shines through the darkness we see what the plans are. There is absolutely no denying that the masses are being programmed (by the spirits of the dragon, beast and false prophet) to look to old Jerusalem for a "new peaceful" kingdom which is to come following some turmoil.

Houteff's voice is only one of the many voices leading the masses to old Jerusalem -- a special one tailored to gather in Adventists into that counterfeit kingdom.

This subject is much bigger than the SRod.

However it is their zeal in breaking down Adventist resistance to the idea of a righteous sounding kingdom in present day Jerusalem, that is serious.
The men and women who founded this church moved clear away from the, even then, popular teachings of an earthly temporal kingdom. Are we now to move back into this popular teaching just because it has been slightly modified?

To cast doubts and confusion on our doctrines is now the master plan of the deceiver, and he is using many groups, (I'm not speaking specifically of SR)
If Satan can get us all confused and doubting our beliefs he knows we will follow his powerful deceptions in the future.

The sealing work is a SETTLING INTO TRUTH so we will not be moved.

"Just as soon as the people of God are sealed in their foreheads--it is not any seal or mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so they cannot be moved--just as soon as God's people are sealed and prepared for the shaking, it will come. 1MR 249

So the deceiver is now working with great skill to effectively cast doubt and confusion on all our doctrines so there is no settling into truth or sealing and so when the shaking comes we will believe our senses instead of holding fast truth.

If we've been filled with doubts on these matters, we will be sifted out of the truth and into the deceptive kingdom.

All the Reformers were unanimous in one point-- the papacy was antichrist. And their interpretation of these prophecies determined their reforming action. It nerved them to resist the claims of that apostate church to the uttermost. It made them martyrs, it sustained them at the stake.

“So great a hold did the conviction that the Papacy was the Antichrist gain upon the minds of men,
that Rome at last saw she must bestir herself, and try, by putting forth other systems of interpretations, to
counteract the identification of the Papacy with Antichrist.
Learned Jesuits provided these interpretations that removed the eye of prophecy away from the papacy -- futurism being one.

But now Futurism has crept into the Protestant church.

Most Adventists realize that Futurism screens the papacy from view as Antichrist, but what some don't seem to realize is that Futurism also allows the papacy to seen as the "Savior".

Adventist have shied away from seeing the counterfeit kingdom in Jerusalem because Futurism has placed a counterfeit kingdom in Jerusalem saying, since a Future antichrist will appear in Jerusalem, thus the papacy cannot be Antichrist since he is in Rome.

But there are two points overlooked here.
1) The one who has deflected the AntiChrist title from himself, and with his alleys apparently defeats the "supposed" AntiChrist, can then sets himself up as a "Savior".

2) The "king of the North" is no new identity, it represents the papacy -- no deflection of title there, and he subdues the king of the south, and plants his tabernacles on the glorious mount between the seas.

Now the following is how it might all pan out.


Very likely some Muslim extremists will fulfil the futurist concept of Anti Christ, The papacy will arise and urging his alleys to war will over-run and subdue this "antichrist". Then, as the one who "saved" the world from the supposed anti-Christ power, will NOT be perceived as THE antichrist at all, he will be perceived as the "true shepherd of the flock".

Through a lot of awesome signs and wonders, and demons appearing looking like influential people that died years earlier, the spiritual battle to control over people's conscience will reach heights hither to unknown. This will be compounded with the appearance of a glorious, radiant being, looking and seemingly acting like Christ. And the whole world will shout, "Christ has come, Christ has come, and the whole world will worship the dragon and the beast.

I have asked you to give us a Inspired statement showing this reference points to Satan setting up his kingdom in Israel in the last days. Of course you ignore that, and pulls quotes from here and there to support "your" idea. Don't worry there is much more to come to expose your private interpretations as just that--private.

One thing to note. Notice I keep referring to the fact that nowhere in Inspiration can we find that It tells us of a Satan kingdom in ISRAEL the last days. Now, the "last days" are understood to be the Loud Cry period , post Church purification

The reason I say that is that Satan has indeed been in control of Jerusalem for a long time. He's used the ungodly and unconverted, heathen and Jews to control God's precious land for a long long time.

But the change comes when Ezekiel 9 church judgment comes and that is when he is shortly thereafter--BOOTED out of there and as the old adage goes, "And the saints go marching in".

This is the prophesied time of Rev. 12, when the "dragon" goes after the woman (church) AFTER the Lord (via the symbolic opening the earth-) cleans His church, to get them ready for His full pouring out His Spirit for the Loud Cry.

Therefore, the nation represented by this particular beast, and the "King of the North," or the "man" who is to be the head king -- of that nation in the time when this "image beast" (the two-horned) enforces the worship of "his image," whose image is nothing less than the thing he made, are to make a likeness of the religio-political system of the "beast before him" (the leopard-like of Revelation 13:1-10); that is, a likeness of the papal system in the period before the leopard-like beast received his deadly wound.

Also the quote from "WLF" has some problems.
Like -- the (666) in parenthesis was inserted in EGW's sentence by Bro Bates who published the first rendition.
When the vision was republished in her books, she never again used it.

And the sentences from pages 8 and 9 were from James White's article in the same paper, not from EGW.

To continue with the counterfeit kingdom, I would like to share the process that we have come to understand the last verses of Daniel 11.

For many, many years, it has been obvious that this chapter is an unscrolling of history. The first half was fairly easy to understand, but the second half took a lot of study, prayer, and discussion, weighing a lot of material, seeking truth.

Starting with the early Adventist view.
The early Adventists interpreted all of Daniel eleven in a very literal way.
Uriah Smith was quite certain that the king of the North was the Muslim Turks. Due to the wars in the 1870's he had the people quite convinced that Christ's coming was near.
But there was a major problem here, which James White pointed out on several occasions -- and that was the lack of consistency regarding the last power in each of Daniel's visions. If the horn in Daniel 7 is the papacy, and the horn in Daniel 8 is the papacy, then the King of the North is also the papacy.

His argument made sense, for not only is it consistent with the rest of Daniel's visions, it is also consistent with the prophetic picture in EGW's visions. (The papacy with it's Protestant allies is the last power)

Another point that seemed inconsistent was that U.Smith's view seemed to turn the map upside down. South seemed to be north, and north seemed to be south.

Years later we have Louis Were writing extensively on Daniel 11. He sees the king of the North as the Papacy, and develops many great insights into the spiritual last battle, but in doing so, he:
1) Writes considerable to down grade U.Smith.
2) Totally switches from literal kings, places and battles, in the first verses of Daniel eleven, to symbolically interpreting the last few verses.

It didn't seem consistent, for U.Smith must have had SOME truth or God would have revealed the error to EGW. Instead she cautioned against raising controversy over the interpretations, and even highly recommended Smith's book. Also many were not totally comfortable that a fairly literal vision should suddenly become symbolic in the last verses.

What started putting the pieces of the puzzle in place was seeing a map of the Mediterranean area during the middle ages.
A picture is worth a thousand words!!!!
There, as obvious as day and night, was the picture of the "northern" Christian territories, (stretching from England to Asia Minor, north of the Mediterranean) and the "southern" Muslim territories (stretching from Spain, all along the African Coast and into Middle East). The lands north of the Mediterranean under Christian control, the lands south of the Mediterranean under Islamic control.

So now apply that obvious reality, that throughout Christian history from years 600 onward these two religious powers fought one against the other, with God's true followers in the middle, to Daniel eleven.

U. Smith had truth in seeing the muslims playing a role in the end times, and in having a more literal interpretation.
James White had truth in declaring the King of the North refers to the papal confederation
Louis Were had truth in declaring the spiritual battle the King of the North would wage against God's people.

But the pieces of the puzzle didn't come together right away.

What about America?
America is the "power" -- the super nation with all the arms to bring it about. The papacy throughout history used the civil power of the kings and nations. Rev. 13 tells us in the last days that nation which enables the final healing of the wounded beast will be America.
Once Papal Rome has America under her influence, America will "cause everyone to worship the beast" Protestant America will create a likeness to the beast, and do miracles in the sight of the beast.
Revelation 13 makes it plain who will be the army supporting the papacy in the last days. America is the "military might" of the last days.

Now consider -- America is pictured as a "beast" (symbol of a nation) in Rev. 13, but in all the succeeding chapters America is pictured as the "false prophet" working beside the papal beast.
What significance does this "false prophet" label have?

Protestant America has almost fully left the historicist interpretation of prophecy and embraced the Futurist interpretations. But this goes far beyond simple "belief", this goes into political activities. And those prophetic based activities are centered in Palestine.

America pours more money into Israel than any other nation.
It is Protestant America that is agitating for a temple to be built etc.

For America to be called the "false prophet" we need to conclude that her interpretation of prophecy will play a major role in the last day deception.

And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

As mentioned earlier, the Moslems took over the realm of the king of the south back in the 600's A.D.
The Moslems will push--
The world is expecting an "antichrist" and the media is directing the focus of the people towards the Moslems. Radical Muslims are providing ammunition for this focus, and what's even more revealing is how the pope is using the reports of violence to gather supporters (uniting to fight the evil).

The Bible has clearly predicted a "beast" "anti-christ" in the time of the end. To deceive the world into accepting the real antichrist A COUNTERFEIT ANTI-CHRIST must draw attention away from the real Anti-Christ--

Not just the Protestants (who have basically accepted the Jesuit interpretation of prophecy) but also the Catholics teach about an antichrist

The Catholic Book discussing the prophecies of "Mary" predicts a Moslem antichrist--(Thunder of Justice pages 342,343)

"There will be a World War III and it will be started by a man who wears the turban of the faith, a Moslem. Yet there is a more powerful one to rise in Syria, when this one has accomplished his work. He will cause destruction and pain and great persecution. The red will flow into the sea . . .There will be nothing to eat . . .The Antichrist is going to arise from the Mohammedan race, a Moslem. He is going to have a turban. The people will call it, "the eye of Satan." He will be young. . .wearing a long robe. He will be very intelligent and well equipped for nuclear war. . .worse than Hitler, connected with communists. . .Fire rockets at us some will hit New York City."

HOWEVER the whole middle east focus is merely a smoke screen and stepping stone for the real antichrist to achieve his ends.

The "king of the north" is the papacy, YET his army, which comes in like a whirlwind, with chariots and with many ships;, will be mainly the military might of the United States.

As we pointed out in our last post -- the papacy relies upon the armies of other nations.

In the battles that will rage, the world will think they are fighting against the anti-christ. All types of "war measures" will be imposed in North America in the name of "fighting the anti-christ". Yes, America will lose her freedoms -- "in the name of fighting terrorism and the antichrist-- and returning the nation back to God"

BUT THE MOSLEMS are not the anti-christ. All they do is PUSH---
and this gives the Papacy and their "army" the USA, (the image of the beast) the excuse to launch a whirlwind of activity and enter into the countries and impose a new order of things by which they will "force the whole world to worship the beast. (Rev. 13:12) The IMAGE OF THE BEAST will be convincing the world they are fighting the "anti-christ" and all the while it is a manoeuver to get the REAL antichrist set up to rule the world.

He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon 11.42
He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps

The resisting Moslem nations will be overthrown, those who go along with the new program will be allowed to keep their distinction as a nation.

Many Moslems countries will lose their sovereignty and have their resources (oil) plundered. All this clearly foretells that the Moslems (though they will push and cause trouble) will NOT be the final threat—they will be overrun and subdued.

While many will look to the papacy in admiration. This is already happening. What with the ISIS problems, the pope goes over there and talks a lot of peace and goodwill and uniting against evil -- and everyone thinks he is great.

But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to make away many.

Subduing the Moslems is only the excuse to take action in the plan of gaining control of the whole world and bringing it under the papal New Order.

Tidings out of the east and north--
Could this be the angel of Revelation 18:1 representing God's people giving the last warning message to the world calling out with a mighty voice against "Babylon" which the king of the North is trying to establish? This angel symbolizes the swelling of the Three Angels’ Message of Rev. 14, into a "loud cry"! These messages will be preached with the power of the latter rain, leading people to desert the ranks of the beast. [Frustrating the king of the North]

Many will resist this implementation of the New World Order and with great fury the "image of the beast" will go forth to utterly do away with many.

It will plunge the world into a terrible ruin. The ensuing wrenching trouble will be blamed on those who refuse to acknowledge the Pope's supremacy and commandments, and to venerate the "Lord's Day" the day of the venerable day of the sun. The hand of force will be applied to subdue all resistance to the new form of authority.

Dedication continues to point to Isiah 14:13-14 as meaning Satan will set up his kingdom in Israel in the time of the Loud Cry. Where is the Inspired writings that show this Scripture shows what you claim it shows?

Additionally, we can show you that Daniel 11:45 does not mean the time during the Loud Cry, which you try and point is the time Satan sets up his kingdom in Israel. He will NOT set up any kingdom in Israel during the Loud Cry. Inspiration is solid on this point!

You can be sure Satan, like a great commanding general who studies out his war strategies long in advance, has planned his strategies centuries ago.

Whether you believe it or not, it is scriptural that Satan's aim is to sit on the Mount of God. He is cast out of heaven, thus he will seek the mount where God Himself dwelt with His people.

The city that stood as capital of God's people for centuries.
Where the temple was built.
Where Christ died and rose again

And no -- I don't believe Revelation 17 is talking about after the 1000 years, it is talking about the deceptions to take place prior to Christ's coming.

Of course Houteff has to push it off far in the future so people won't think the great deception happens before Christ's coming, and the poor deceived ones will think most of the world will be flowing into their imaginary righteous pre-Christ's coming kingdom.

The kings of Israel and Judah were leading the people away from God.

God's Word says: "Remove the diadem and take off the crown; ... I will overturn, overturn, overturn it; and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him." Eze. 21:25-27;

No more kings sitting on the throne in Jerusalem. The remnant of Israel were then subject to Babylon. When Babylon fell, Medo-Persia succeeded. Then when Medo-Persia fell and was succeeded by Grecia, it was overturned the second time. When the Greek empire gave way to Rome, it was overturned the third time. And then scripture says, "It shall be no more, till He come whose right it is; and I will give it him."

Who is He whose right it is?

"Thou . . . shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David; and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end." Luke 1:31-33.

And when Christ came the first time, He said, "My kingdom is not of this world."

Thus the throne of the Lord has been removed from this world, and will "be no more, until he come whose right it is," and then it will be given him.

Therefore while this world stands, a true theocracy can never be in it again. There will be no pre-second coming righteous kingdom with a human "David" on the throne.
Indeed scripture tells us when the throne will again be upon the earth, and it will be after the millennium in Rev. 21-22.

Daniel speaks of this same papal confederacy as the "king of the north" who sets his tabernacles between the seas on the glorious mountain. But he will come to his end.

Now compare this to what Inspiration says in "A word to the Little Flock."--

The above explains that the two-horned beast is the one to whom the number 666 belongs; and that this beast, of "Revelation 13:11-18," and the "King of the North" of Daniel 11:45, are the same power.

Further we know the history of some of the SDA leaders, for example, How they left alone Ellen White's comment in 1890 about Elijah coming to the church. Then in 1962 some 72 years later they add their asterisk saying she was talking about herself (Test. to Minsters, p.475). they didn't dare add it while brother Houteff was alive and active (up to 1955).

And no acknowledgment from you that you took words from another writer and mixed them in with her statement presenting them as hers.

Then you pit this one obscure sentence (which she wrote as a letter, not even with the intention that it be published) with it's inserted (666) against all the other things she wrote, in some strange effort to prove the papacy is not what prophecy and EGW says he is in the last days.

Why do you think she left that sentence out of her subsequent published books when she related the same vision?
Could it be that it added thoughts to what God had shown her and caused people to think things that weren't clearly revealed to her? That maybe she didn't quite understand at that point in time.

In fact, from James White's writings we realize they DID NOT have a clear understanding as to what the "666" stood for -- if they had a clear "Thus says the Lord" as you tried to prove, with your mixing sentences from another author with hers, would they have changed their position?

The following is what many believed in 1853


In 1860 that understanding brought on a big problem.
In 1860 steps were taken to organize the Sabbatarian Adventists officially into a recognized church which implied legal incorporation of church property under the laws of the State.
But to do so == many believed they would become part of the 666, for wasn't the 666 the number of all the incorporated religious organizations in America?

To this J. White replied that the number 666 referred to "the papal beast," not to the two-horned beast, and his reasoning was -- that since 1845 people had been saying the number 666 was full, that there was that number of legally organized bodies. But just how it applied they weren't sure. then Uriah Smith pointed out the name in the pope's crown.


All that being said --
Even if the sentence remains just as it stand -- added 666 and all, the way it was understood in those early years still places the papacy at the head of the confederacy of six hundred sixty six apostate bodies as "the man".

Thus he is still the king of the North-- the head of the papal confederacy that sets his tabernacles on the holy mountain between the seas.

Admittingly, I will say that I have not looked into this issue deeply. Therefore i will reserve comment until I know more about it.

I know Satan wants to silence the voice of Seventh-day Adventists who are settled in the truth as it was given to the church. I also realize that much of the church has grown unsettled in those truths and without a return to truth God's blessings can't be poured out.

plainly shows the execution of Ez. 9 takes place during the seventh plague. (GC 656)

Since the real event takes place at that time, any previous attempts to make it happen, would come about by some group (not necessarily SRod) who see a need to get rid of those standing in the way of the advance to "peace and safety".

We know there are a number of verses in scripture that tell us there will be people who think they are doing God's will by killing. (Rev. 13, Matt. 24:9, mark 13:12, John 16:2)


The point is ---- this doctrine has a high potential for people to take things in their own hands. For it teaches a lot of wonderful things will happen here on earth AFTER it occurs.

That is not a falsehood.

What is interesting is that Houteff himself sees Daniel 11:45 "between the seas and the glorious mountain" over in the Middle East.



Of course Houteff denies it is in Jerusalem -- and tries to think of some other place -- like Mt. Sinai,-- where that might be.

And that is the problem -

For -- "the glorious mountain" is the same as the
"glorious land" mentioned in an early verse in the same chapter where it is dealing with the Roman armies entering Jerusalem back in 63 BC.

11:16 .. and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.

Houteff himself, recognizes this verse talks about pagan Rome conquering Palestine and Jerusalem. He wrote:

And yes, the world will be ---reorganized and ruled by an ecclesiastical head...his choosing to plant his tabernacles "in the glorious holy mountain," indicates that the place is intended to attach to his tabernacles the holiness of the people of God.

And that ecclesiastical head is the papacy.

Suppose it was. Then wouldn't it mean that we are not to go up to Old Jerusalem because the beast is there?

Indeed, it would mean we are not to look to Old Jerusalem -- or go there thinking we'll find the true kingdom there.

I just found it interesting that Houteff -- (the one who tried to make going to old Jerusalem the "crowning hope" for God's people)-- basically agreed with me concerning the "glorious mountain" in Daniel 11:45 on quite a number of points, but then turned around and said, that "glorious mountain" couldn't be Jerusalem, it may be Mt. Sinai.

However -- it is most likely Jerusalem.

We read in Patriarchs and Prophets p. 539 that the children of Israel would sing these words from the Psalms as they approached Jerusalem to partake in the annual festivals.

Jerusalem was God’s chosen city to which not only the children of Israel came to worship, but to which the nations were to come to seek God. To this city and its surrounding areas came the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

Had the Jewish nation accepted Christ as their Messiah, their city would have been a light to the whole world.
Because they rejected the Prince of Life, their city would not – could not be the light to world, it was desolate.

“Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. Matt.23:38.

And that desolation remains until the consummation when the earth is made new.
Daniel 9:27 "for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

But we read that in the last days attempts will be made to bring in this “temporal kingdom” to old Jerusalem.

The king of the North will plant his tabernacles on the glorious mountain between the seas. *Daniel 11:45)

And many people will tell us that we need to go to Jerusalem, thinking this is the solution to earth’s problems and a return to God.
Isaiah 2:3 And many people shall go and say, “Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
2:5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD. “

2:6 Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and [are] soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.


Notice, this scripture does not say that people will actually walk in the law of the Lord, but that "many people shall go and say" let’s go, and by us going, the world’s war problems will be solved, let’s go...

But their words are met with rebuke from the Lord! The Lord says they are "pleasers of themselves."


And what do we see in the world today?

Most of Protestantism is teaching a temporal kingdom in Jerusalem.


We see the Vatican making negotiations to control all the so called "holy" areas in the city and surrounding territories.

on Dec. 30, 1993 "The Fundamental Agreement Between the Holy See and the State of Israel,” Shimon Peres had promised the pope control over holy sites.

Satan desires for himself the worship that belongs to God alone. The last conflict is about worship. Satan works through his two earthly representatives -- the papacy, and the false prophet, and uses scripture to establish the counterfeit religious kingdom. And to attach a sense of "holiness" the attempt will be made to establish this counterfeit kingdom with a base in the "Holy Land" -- Palestine.

I've underlined the two covenants that concern our study--God pre-millennial kingdom.
