Is the technology being given to do the work we have failed to do?

Is the technology being given to do the work we have failed to do? - 03/13/12 01:33 PM

We were to bring the Gospel to all the world. Now from the farthest reaches of deserts of Mongolia to the frozen Antartica, the Gospel is being spread through one form or another of the latest technoligies by Ipad, Kindle, Droid phone, Blackberry, etc.. Did God unveil it and give the understanding to create these new technologies so the Gospel could go to every corner of the earth as we should have done and failed to do?

We are behind in this arena. The world is much more advanced and adept at using these new technologies, and as a people we have failed to comprehend their significance or usefulness. We have given little attention and budget to them. Yet the technology does make it possible for the true seekers to find the truth. It may not yet be putting out the Gospel for many of those who know not to look for it.

I don't think God unveiled any technology. He can use technology, but didn't create it. Otherwise, He could be blamed for creating evil. It's technology man invented which like fire, knives, etc., can be used for good or evil. Satan means it for evil, but God can use it for good. However, we shouldn't let evil have a monopoly on it, but do all that's possible to bring good out of it. It's another tool such as paper, pen, radio, and TV. Evil or good is in the hands of the beholder.

But the underlying basis is, what is the Gospel?

I think that helps us understand our duty in this area better. We should be taking the Gospel directly to the people, not simply preaching it in the pulpit nor via technology.

People who learn about the truth via communication devices are similar to people who receive dreams and visions in that they learned about it without direct contact from a missionary. Eventually they need to hook up with real people to further their experience in Jesus.
