What is our biggest hope for the future?

I'm sure that may be different from one person to the next, or from one religion to the next.

But, what is our biggest hope for the future?

Do you mean "your" biggest hope? By saying "our" in your question to me seems to say the church, as a corporate unit, biggest hope. But from your next sentence, you may mean both (individual and their hope for the Corporate Church).

I am actually asking each individual in this forum. I assumed this forum was open to non-SDA's as well. If I am mistaken on that point, I'm sorry.

But, my question is for each individual, regardless of their religion.

Our only hope for the future is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Amen -- there is no future (other than a perhaps a few more short years in this troubled world, and even that is not guaranteed) there is no real future or hope outside of Christ's second coming.

This world is not my home
I'm just a passing through

I’m But a Stranger Here
I’m but a stranger here,
Heaven is my home;
Earth is a desert drear,
Heaven is my home;
Danger and sorrow stand
Round me on every hand;
Heaven is my fatherland,
Heaven is my home.

WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE!
There is coming a day when no heartaches shall come
No more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye.
All is peace forevermore on that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
Chorus
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain, no more parting over there;
And forever I will be with the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
Chorus
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
What a day, glorious day that will be!

The Golden Morning

The golden morning is fast approaching;
Jesus soon will come
To take His faithful and happy children
To their promised home.

Refrain

O, we see the gleams of the golden morning
Piercing through this night of gloom!
O, we see the gleams of the golden morning
That will burst the tomb.

There those loved ones who have long been parted
Will all meet that day;
The tears of those who are brokenhearted
Will be wiped away.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
And help all my loved ones to be ready to meet You!

For many, the second coming it not good news because they see God coming as a stern judge and not as a loving father. Our greatest hope, our only hope, is Christ and Christ NOW. "Ye must be born again." "Except a man be born from above, he can not see the kingdom of God." John 3:7, 3

2 Corinthians 4:3-6 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine to them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The teachings of popes and priests had led men to look upon the character of God, and even of Christ, as stern, gloomy, and forbidding. The Saviour was represented as so far devoid of sympathy with man in his fallen state that the mediation of priests and saints must be invoked. Those whose minds had been enlightened by the word of God longed to point these souls to Jesus as their compassionate, loving Saviour, standing with outstretched arms, inviting all to come to Him with their burden of sin, their care and weariness. They longed to clear away the obstructions which Satan had piled up that men might not see the promises, and come directly to God, confessing their sins, and obtaining pardon and peace.
{GC 73.2}

Eagerly did the Vaudois missionary unfold to the inquiring mind the precious truths of the gospel. Cautiously he produced the carefully written portions of the Holy Scriptures. It was his greatest joy to give hope to the conscientious, sin-stricken soul, who could see only a God of vengeance, waiting to execute justice. With quivering lip and tearful eye did he, often on bended knees, open to his brethren the precious promises that reveal the sinner's
only hope. Thus the light of truth penetrated many a darkened mind, rolling back the cloud of gloom, until the Sun of Righteousness shone into the heart with healing in His beams. It was often the case that some portion of Scripture was read again and again, the hearer desiring it to be repeated, as if he would assure himself that he had heard aright. Especially was the repetition of these words eagerly desired: "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin." 1 John 1:7. "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:14-15. {GC 73.3}

Wonderful posts everyone.

It is true that the Second Coming is our Great Hope. But, for that to be our Great Hope we must know Jesus NOW!

So, I guess my greatest hope for the future is for our witness to be much sweeter and loving and kind. So that the Latter Rain and the Loud Cry can register immense success.

It's true, our only hope is in Christ!!!!

There are many promises that give us hope along the way!
The promised outpouring of God's life-giving Spirit is still the great hope of God's people.

But for Christ's followers, the greatest hope for the future is the second coming when we are welcomed into His everlasting kingdom, and we will see Him face to face.
