Christ will clothe his faithful ones with his own righteousness, that he may present them to his Father “a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing.” [Ephesians 5:27.]

Their names stand enrolled in the Lamb's book of life; the book containing the names of all those who will inhabit the NEW JERUSALEM for concerning them it is written, “I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels... They shall walk with me in white; for they are worthy.” [Revelation 3:4,5.]

In this will be realized the complete fulfillment of the new-covenant promise, “I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” “In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found.” [Jeremiah 31:34; 50:20.] “In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem.” [Isaiah 4:2,3.]
The work of the investigative Judgment and the blotting out of sins is underway right now in the heavenly courts.

The names of the citizens of the heavenly Zion are being compiled.
Rev. 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

It is the Lord that pronounces them holy--the One that pronounces the branch of the Lord beautiful and glorious--the One that washes away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purges the blood of Jerusalem by the spirit of judgment, (BY HIS HOLY SPIRIT John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged)and by the spirit of burning; (Did not our heart burn within us as He opened the scripture Luke 24:32). God pronounces them holy, and if the Lord pronounces them holy, they will be holy indeed.

Yes, God will have a pure church --

Those who seek the Lord with all their hearts will have their sins forgiven and their lives cleansed from sin by His grace, and through His Spirit and the "eating" of God's Word.

These will cling to Christ as persecution causes the ungrounded, careless ones to give up their faith.

Their names will remain in the Lamb's book of life as eternal citizens of the New Jerusalem, and they will escape the fate of the wicked. They will be citizens of the New Jerusalem, that heavenly city FOREVER!

The purification comes from having a relationship with Christ, it is first and foremost a purification of our hearts and minds -- something accomplished only by the Holy Spirit through the grace of God and the righteousness of Christ.

The gathering out of all evil -- is the gathering out of all evil from our hearts and minds, and filling them with God's goodness, love and righteousness.

Those who undergo this purification, will stand true during the great test when laws are passed to honor Sunday and labor on Saturday imposed by severe penalties.

They will be found in all parts of the world, and will share the message in whatever country they are.

And they will welcome Christ when He comes in the clouds of glory to gather His people from the four corners (directions) of the earth, and take them home.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

I was pointed to the providence of God among His people and was shown that every trial made by the refining, purifying process upon professed Christians proves some to be dross. The fine gold does not always appear. In every religious crisis some fall under temptation. The shaking of God blows away multitudes like dry leaves. Prosperity multiplies a mass of professors. Adversity purges them out of the church. As a class, their spirits are not steadfast with God. They go out from us because they are not of us; for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, many are offended. {4T 89.2}

When thus united, the words of Christ abide in us. We are not actuated by a spasmodic feeling, but by a living, abiding principle. The result will be a purified heart, a circumspect life, and a faultless character. But it is only by acquaintance and association with Christ that we can become like him, the one faultless example. {ST, September 10, 1885 par. 15}

This scripture will be literally fulfilled. Everything is to be shaken that can be shaken, that those things that can not be shaken may remain. I am amazed as I consider the past, present, and future of the people of God. The Lord will have a pure, holy people,--a people who will stand the test. Every believer needs now to search his heart as with a lighted candle. {RH, March 15, 1906 par. 3}

We are to be ready and waiting for the orders of God. Nations will be stirred to their very center. Support will be withdrawn from those who proclaim God's only standard of righteousness, the only sure test of character. And all who will not bow to the decree of the national councils, and obey the national laws to exalt the sabbath instituted by the man of sin to the disregard of God's holy day, will feel, not the oppressive power of popery alone, but of the Protestant world, the image of the beast. . . . {3SM 385.2}

The great issue so near at hand will weed out those whom God has not appointed and He will have a pure, true, sanctified ministry prepared for the latter rain. . . . {3SM 385.3}

A new life is proceeding from satanic agencies to work with a power we have not hitherto realized. And shall not a new power from above take possession of God's people?--Letter 55, 1886. {3SM 385.4}

Church members who are not truly converted will be weeded out, shaken out during the MOB crisis. The result will be sifted, sanctified, pure, true church prepared for the latter rain.

We need to work now to save as many members from their nominal conversions so they can stand true with us during the final events.

Here's one of the most powerful statements by Ellen White on the purification of the church.
Quote:
The patience of God has an object, but you [the Battle Creek Church] are defeating it. He is allowing a state of things to come that you would fain see counteracted by and by, but it will be too late. God commanded Elijah to anoint the cruel and deceitful Hazael king over Syria, that he might be a scourge to idolatrous Israel. Who knows whether God will not give you up to the deceptions you love? Who knows but that the preachers who are faithful, firm, and true may be the last who shall offer the gospel of peace to our unthankful churches? It may be that the destroyers are already training under the hand of Satan and only wait the departure of a few more standard-bearers to take their places, and with the voice of the false prophet cry, "Peace, peace," when the Lord hath not spoken peace. I seldom weep, but now I find my eyes blinded with tears; they are falling upon my paper as I write. It may be that erelong all prophesyings among us will be at an end, and the voice which has stirred the people may no longer disturb their carnal slumbers. {5T 77.1}

When God shall work His strange work on the earth, when holy hands bear the ark no longer, woe will be upon the people.
Oh, that thou hadst known, even thou, in this thy day, the things that belong unto thy peace! Oh, that our people may, as did Nineveh, repent with all their might and believe with all their heart, that God may turn away His fierce anger from them. {5T 77.2}

I know that many think far too favorably of the present time. These ease-loving souls will be engulfed in the general ruin. Yet we do not despair. We have been inclined to think that where there are no faithful ministers there can be no true Christians, but this is not the case. God has promised that where the shepherds are not true He will take charge of the flock Himself. God has never made the flock wholly dependent upon human instrumentalities. But the days of purification of the church are hastening on apace. God will have a people pure and true. In the mighty sifting soon to take place we shall be better able to measure the strength of Israel. The signs reveal that the time is near when the Lord will manifest that His fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor. {5T 79.4}

The days are fast approaching when there will be great perplexity and confusion. Satan, clothed in angel robes, will deceive, if possible, the very elect. There will be gods many and lords many. Every wind of doctrine will be blowing. Those who have rendered supreme homage to "science falsely so called" will not be the leaders then. Those who have trusted to intellect, genius, or talent will not then stand at the head of rank and file. They did not keep pace with the light. Those who have proved themselves unfaithful will not then be entrusted with the flock. In the last solemn work few great men will be engaged. They are self-sufficient, independent of God, and He cannot use them. The Lord has faithful servants, who in the shaking, testing time will be disclosed to view. There are precious ones now hidden who have not bowed the knee to Baal. They have not had the light which has been shining in a concentrated blaze upon you. But it may be under a rough and uninviting exterior the pure brightness of a genuine Christian character will be revealed. In the day time we look toward heaven but do not see the stars. They are there, fixed in the firmament, but the eye cannot distinguish them. In the night we behold their genuine luster. {5T 80.1}

The time is not far distant when the test will come to every soul. The mark of the beast will be urged upon us. Those who have step by step yielded to worldly demands and conformed to worldly customs will not find it a hard matter to yield to the powers that be, rather than subject themselves to derision, insult, threatened imprisonment, and death. The contest is between the commandments of God and the commandments of men. In this time the gold will be separated from the dross in the church. True godliness will be clearly distinguished from the appearance and tinsel of it. Many a star that we have admired for its brilliancy will then go out in darkness. Chaff like a cloud will be borne away on the wind, even from places where we see only floors of rich wheat. All who assume the ornaments of the sanctuary, but are not clothed with Christ's righteousness, will appear in the shame of their own nakedness. {5T 81.1}

There are few really consecrated men among us, few who have fought and conquered in the battle with self. Real conversion is a decided change of feelings and motives; it is a virtual taking leave of worldly connections, a hastening from their spiritual atmosphere, a withdrawing from the controlling power of their thoughts, opinions, and influences. The separation causes pain and bitterness to both parties. It is the variance which Christ declares that He came to bring. But the converted will feel a continual longing desire that their friends shall forsake all for Christ, knowing that, unless they do, there will be a final and eternal separation. The true Christian cannot, while with unbelieving friends, be light and trifling. The value of the souls for whom Christ died is too great. {5T 82.5}

He "that forsaketh not all that he hath," says Jesus, "cannot be My disciple." Whatever shall divert the affections from God must be given up. Mammon is the idol of many. Its golden chain binds them to Satan. Reputation and worldly honor are worshiped by another class. The life of selfish ease and freedom from responsibility is the idol of others. These are Satan's snares, set for unwary feet. But these slavish bands must be broken; the flesh must be crucified with the affections and lusts. We cannot be half the Lord's and half the world's. We are not God's people unless we are such entirely. Every weight, every besetting sin, must be laid aside. God's watchmen will not cry, "Peace, peace," when God has not spoken peace. The voice of the faithful watchmen will be heard: "Go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean that bear the vessels of the Lord." {5T 83.1}

The church cannot measure herself by the world nor by the opinion of men nor by what she once was. Her faith and her position in the world as they now are must be compared with what they would have been if her course had been continually onward and upward. The church will be weighed in the balances of the sanctuary. If her moral character and spiritual state do not correspond with the benefits and blessings God has conferred upon her, she will be found wanting.
Notice the last part of the quote. I believe we are going to witness this in the days and months ahead.

Yes that is a powerful quote.
God will have a purified church and it is a serious matter.

However this final purification of the church is not caused by angels one Sabbath morning killing all Adventists that have assembled in the church, thus ridding the church of all lukewarm believers who reject the earthly Palestine kingdom message. All before the Sunday laws are passed etc. as the SRod teach.

The time is not far distant when the test will come to every soul. The mark of the beast will be urged upon us. Those who have step by step yielded to worldly demands and conformed to worldly customs will not find it a hard matter to yield to the powers that be, rather than subject themselves to derision, insult, threatened imprisonment, and death. 5T 81

The test of the Sabbath vs Sunday will come
Those who now are careless in regard to worldly things will yield to the powers that be --

The separation causes pain and bitterness to both parties. 5T 82

So here we see that both parties are still alive. This is confirmed in 5T 463

And at that time the superficial, conservative class, whose influence has steadily retarded the progress of the work, will renounce the faith, and take their stand with its avowed enemies, toward whom their sympathies have long been tending. These apostates will then manifest the most bitter enmity, doing all in their power to oppress and malign their former brethren, and to excite indignation against them. This day is just before us. The members of the church will individually be tested and proved. 5T 463

When the test comes, it will be clearly shown what the mark of the beast is. It is the keeping of Sunday.--7BC 980 (1900)

It will NOT be a time when all worldly Adventists suddenly die, and those who survive head for a safe earthly kingdom to escape most of the terrible ordeal of the time of trouble -- but rather a separation occurs, this separation will be a majority forsaking the Sabbath and turning on those who refuse to follow and persecuting them -- this will be a most severe trial. The SEVENTH-day Sabbath keeping church will look like it has fallen. But it doesn't those who have yielded to the Sunday have departed, leaving a remnant who hold fast to Christ and His commandments.

Yes, people are already separating themselves into the two camps -- but it isn't always visible at this point. Some are earnestly seeking after God, while others are simply gliding along without an earnest connection with Christ.

In the last days, after the test is imposed, the separation will be VERY apparent.

The cleansing
must take place in our hearts and lives now.
This is the urgency we find in EGW's writings, we must seek to be united to the vine (Christ) and have His righteousness transform us.
Now we must take our faith seriously and turn to Christ with all our hearts in full commitment, repenting of sin, putting away sinful distractions and anything that stands between us and committing fully to Christ, and seeking His cleansing.

"The only way in which men will be able to stand firm in the conflict is to be rooted and grounded in Christ. They must receive the truth as it is in Jesus. And it is only as the truth is presented thus that it can meet the wants of the soul. The preaching of Christ crucified, Christ our righteousness, is what satisfies the soul's hunger. When we secure the interest of the people in this great central truth, faith and hope and courage come to the heart.--GCDB Jan. 28, 1893. {LDE 151.1}

One interest will prevail, one subject will swallow up every other,--Christ our righteousness. {RH, December 23, 1890 par. 19}
"This is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." "Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord." This is what needs to be brought into the experience of every worker, high or low, in all our institutions, in all our churches. God wants every soul to return to the first love. He wants all to have the gold of faith and love, so that they can draw from the treasure to impart to others who need it. {RH, December 23, 1890 par. 20}

Those who fail to fully commit themselves to Christ and His refining, cleansing power that fits them for eternity, will not only leave the truth when the crises, testing time, comes, they will experience the plagues and fall in the general destruction, failing to receive everlasting life.

There is no safety in mere church membership --
There is safety only in Christ who will leave the names of those who overcome in the book of life, (see Rev. 3:5)
And who are the overcomers?

1 John 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, [even] our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God does not continue in sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

And those whose names are inscribed in the book of life, will live forever as citizens of His heavenly, everlasting kingdom.

Also, Satan has side tracked the church with the "ordination" issue. Ordination is NOT the test, it isn't the last crises, it is a smoke screen, a huge distraction, to hide the real issues facing every individual church member today. A power struggle which shouldn't be in the church AT ALL.

God doesn't need the "ordination" by human hands in these last days. Human ordination will be totally meaningless in the last crises. God will use every person who is fully committed to him to sound the loud cry.

The issue is
CHRIST OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

The issue is
every member needs the refining, cleansing, Holy Spirit work within their hearts and minds so they will stand firm for the Lord in the TESTING TIME over God's ten commandments, and be able to sound the last warning message to the world in clear tones.
