Part I


Some bible expositors have suggested that Christ is teaching here that our willingness to forgive others should have no limits, that seventy times seven implies unbounded forgiveness. But it should be remembered that seven is the number of completeness and that seventy times that number is seventy fold completeness. Christ himself through the angel Gabriel set the period of grace for ancient Israel, allotting them seventy times seven years, 70 Sabbaticals, of probationary time. Daniel 9:25.

Although the prophecy of Daniel 9 does set a prophetic limit to God's grace the same prophecy also promised Israel its highest blessing - the full liberation of the nation from sin and the final establishment of the covenant between God and His people. Through His Son, the Father intended to establish His kingdom in their hearts at the end of the 490 year period. This was the wonderful purpose of the Messiah's reign, the true gospel of Christ that was rejected by the Jews - freedom from the chains of sin and an eternal Jubilee of liberty in Christ.

But the word of God stands sure though men and nations prove false. God has promised that His hand will save the meek and deliver the poor and that all of spiritual Israel will be finally saved. Although only a remnant of physical Israel may believe, all of spiritual Israel will in the end be saved. This is where the prophecy of Daniel 9 reaches its complete fulfillment - when Christ makes an ?end of sin? and brings in "everlasting righteousness". Given that this prophecy assures the final success of the gospel and the complete eradication of sin through the mediation of Christ, then we might expect to find that the limits of God's forbearance to physical Israel are given with equal clarity to spiritual Israel. We will come back to this, but first, let's look at the little known prophecy of Ezekiel 4.

For centuries bible students and scholars have attempted to establish the chronology of the Old Testament but the period of the kings has thwarted all attempts to establish dates with a high degree of certainty earlier than the 8th century BC. Establishing firm dates back to the Exodus is useful not only for historical accuracy but for understanding prophecy. Knowing the exact date of the Exodus, for example, would give us the exact date of the entry of Israel into the promised land and that, in turn, would allow us to know the cycle of the Jubilees and Sabbatical years, both of which are linked to the prophecy of Daniel 9.

The prophecy of Ezekiel 4 was given in 591 BC, six years before the destruction of the temple in 587 BC. This date is our anchor date as it has been verified in secular history by Ptolemy's Canon and other ancient sources.

Ezekiel was told to illustrate the future siege and destruction of Jerusalem by making a model of the city on a clay tablet and laying siege to it for 390 days for the sin of Israel and 40 for the sin of Judah, a day for a year for a total of 430 years. Notice here that there are 70 sabbatical years in the 430 year total given in Ezekiel 4, the exact amount that the scriptures say went unobserved which led to the captivity of the Jews.ii II Chor. 36:22, Jer. 25:9-12, 29:10, Daniel 9:2.

But regarding the 430 years, the question is which years do they cover? Given that the prophecy foretold the destruction of the city and temple and the overthrow of the Davidic line, and given that this event was the divine punishment that was allowed to overtake the nation for its sin, this date, 587 BC marks the ending point of that period. If we go back 430 years we come to 1017 BC. What year is that? It turns out that this year is a good candidate for the beginning of the rule of the house of David and if that is the case then 430 years is the full period of that line.

In I Kings 1 and 2 we have evidence that David and Solomon were co-regents for a period of time. (See I Kings 1 and 2, I Kings 6:1 and I Chor 28 and 29, especially 29:22). Since David reigned 40 years and David's death occurred in or very near to the fourth year of Solomon's reign we can place the start of construction of the temple at 977 BC (1017 - 40 =977 BC) and since, according to I Kings 6:1, the exodus occurred 480 years earlier, we can place the exodus at 1457 BC. This year is a good candidate as well because it synchronizes with the Sabbatical years. The Jews have not lost track of the Sabbaticals although they have of the Jubilees, so this increases the credibility of that year as marking the Exodus.

Like the throne of Christ, David's throne was established by a prophetic promise. The house of David reigned as a type until Shiloh, the Messiah, would come.



After 430 years of rule, David's house filled the cup of transgression to the limit and, after 70 Sabbaticals went unobserved, the crown was removed from David's house until Shiloh came, the ?one whose right it is?.



After the captivity God did not restore the throne to David's physical line but He did extend the probation of Israel another 490 years. If the Jews had been ready for their Messiah, the son of David, how different their history would have been. As one poet has said:

Of all sad words of tongue or pen,
The saddest are these:
'What might have been'.

But, as we've seen, at the end of the 490 year period, the Messiah did come and the throne of David was given to Him whose right it is.



The Throne of David and the Final Jubilee

In the table below, little rainbows mark the prophetic Sabbaticals. Notice how many of the important dates of prophecy fall on Sabbaticals.

Regarding the length of David's reign it says in 2 Samuel:



David reigned in Hebron 7 - years and in Jerusalem 33 years for a total of 40 - years. After His resurrection, Christ took His seat on David's throne and has reigned as king in heaven for 40.5 Jubilees. There are 29.5 Jubilees from the Exodus to the crucifixion and after this another 40.5, a total grace period of 70 Jubilees.

The pioneers of Adventism taught in history that the first seal was broken at the end of the seventy Sabbaticals which marked the beginning of the gospel harvest of the gentiles. In the same way, at the end of seventy Jubilees the final unrolling of the scroll begins.

In Testimonies Volume 8 Sister White makes this timely prophetic statement:



The above statement is fascinating not only for the fact that Ellen White clearly says there is more to learn about the mark or 666, but also because she tells us exactly when it will be learned - at the unrolling of the scroll. When is that? The phrase "unrolling of the scroll" refers to the time pictured in Daniel 7 quoted below and in the parallel passage of Revelation 5 when the Lamb, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, takes the mysterious seven-sealed book that no one in heaven or earth is worthy to open or read, and, one by one, breaks its seals, unrolling and revealing its hidden contents.

The prophecy of Daniel 9 can be read in terms of Sabbaticals or as Jubilees because the word "week" in Hebrew means a group of seven. In Leviticus 25 a Sabbatical cycle is defined as a week of years or seven years. The year of the Lord's crucifixion 31AD was in the middle of the Sabbatical week. It was also in the middle of a Jubilee which is a week of seven Sabbaticals. Putting Ellen White's prophetic statement together with Revelation 5, 10 and Daniel 7:9 and 10 below it appears that at the end of 70 Jubilees, Christ took the scroll and began to unroll it.



I believe the day of unrolling is here and that this final unrolling began in 2015. (See Table 2 above). In its most perfect application, this is a Most Holy place scene and takes place post-1844 (Daniel 7, 9 and Rev.4 and 5). In Part 2 we'll look at what took place in the fall of 2015 and since that time in the world, in heaven, and in the church.

Part II

In Part I, I discussed the application of Daniel 9 to the end times and I closed by quoting Ellen White's statement that we will not have a complete understanding of the mark of the beast, 666, until the final unrolling of the scroll.

At this point you may be wondering; "Don't Adventists teach that the scroll was unsealed centuries ago"? Yes, we have believed and taught that from the beginning and William Miller, before us, taught the same. But God through the prophet would like to expand our view. He tells us that this book that is in His right hand contains information we need to understand and that we have more to learn.

God through the Apostle has told us that 'judgment begins with the household of God', I Peter 4:17, and speaking to Adventists, the Lord through Ellen White tells us that He is measuring us.


If we put these statements together they teach that the judgment of spiritual Israel, the church, is an ongoing reality. But at a certain divinely appointed time that process expands to include the world and like the cross, this transition marks a new era. And as the events surrounding the crucifixion were plainly foretold by the prophets, we might expect that an event of this magnitude - all the world being arraigned before the bar of God - will be delineated in prophecy as well. Ellen White implies that the unrolling of the scroll in Revelation 5 is a description of that event:




When the Lamb takes the book, and I believe He has, the judgment of the living turns to the world. Then those who are spiritually awake understand things that they haven't understood as God successively removes His hand from the seven concealed portions of the book. This is when the remaining issues relating to the mark, in addition to the day of worship, are made plain by the Holy Spirit.

How do we know that the Lamb has taken the book? We know by the fulfillment of prophecy: John will 'prophesy again' and 'measure the temple, the Church, and those who worship there', and Daniel, like John, will 'stand in his lot and place' at the end. Specifically, we will know by 1) the fulfillment of the seals, and 2) by the sounding of the seven trumpets which Ellen White, as we'll see below, also placed in the future.

Ellen White on the Trumpets

Regarding the trumpets, the quote below is remarkable for several reasons. It was written by Ellen White December 22, 1890, from Washington, D. C., to "Dear Children, Edson, Emma, and Willie." The first part of the letter gives her children the news of what she?s been doing. The second half launches into a description of final events. Among many other interesting comments on the end-times she says the following:


If she had stopped at her statement that "trumpet after trumpet" will sound, we might be justified in questioning whether she was referring to the seven trumpets of Revelation 8 to 11 which Adventists place mainly in the past - all but the last part of the sixth and the seventh. But since she links her comment on the trumpets to the vials or plagues it appears that she does mean what she seems to be saying - that all seven trumpets and plagues apply to the end-times and that the trumpets will be repeated.

Below is another quote along the same lines but in this one she links the seals as well as the trumpets and plagues together and again places all three in the future. The context of this statement is that she and some co-workers were caught in a severe thunderstorm in Australia and the experience gave her forebodings of what end-time events will be like:


This paragraph ends with a direction to her secretary to 'give the description in chapter 6.' What is in chapter 6 of Revelation? The first six of the seven seals.

The Seals and the Two Witnesses

In the first seal of Revelation 6 there is a rider on a white horse, symbolic of the victories of the pure gospel under the early and latter rain, in the second seal the red horse is symbolic of war and strife, in the third, the black is of famine, in the fourth, the pale horse symbolizes plague and death. Revelation 10, 11 and 14 run parallel to the unsealing of the scroll. In chapter 10 John, a symbol of the end-time church is given a little book of prophecy, a book that was formerly sealed but now open in the hand of the Angel, and John is directed to eat it. He does and it is sweet in his mouth but bitter in his stomach. Why? Not only because the Lord did not come as expected in 1844 but also because John is then told to rise and give the final prophetic message, the measuring message to the world. The message is bitter in proportion to its unpopularity. Although it is a message of good news that gives hope and life to the humble, the same message condemns the pride, skepticism, and sensuality of spiritual Sodom and Egypt.

Notice the parallel between the measuring message in Revelation 11 and the judgment hour message of Revelation 14. Notice that the message of the Two Witnesses is not only a call to Sabbath reform. The Sabbath is a central aspect but their message, like the first angel's message, is the full, everlasting gospel - the offer of complete moral renewal, complete freedom and restoration into the image of Christ through a faith that works by love and purifies the soul. By the mighty angel of Revelation 18 the gospel is placed in sharp contrast to the corrupt religion of the beast and Babylon, not only in regard to Sunday but in contrast with the moral depravity of the harlot, Mystery Babylon. These Witnesses, empowered by the Spirit unmask the mysterious corruptions of Babylon which have been covered under the guise of political correctness, toleration and liberty.

The sad fact is that the majority of affluent Adventists in the western nations have, like the wealthy citizens of Sodom, adopted the world's moral standard. Isn't it a fact that western Adventist church leaders and members have in effect slain the influence of these Two Witnesses by a false gospel.

This has been transpiring for years in the church and in the world, but especially since the fall of 2015: From the time that the joint session of Congress acknowledged the moral leadership of the Pope, the Two Witnesses have born their testimony in sackcloth and ashes and they have virtually been slain in mainstream western culture and in western Adventism. In the summary below is a list the evidence that since 2015 we've entered the final dark age, a spiritual midnight.

But it is during the darkest night that the stars shine brightest. At midnight, the cry is heard, 'Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye out to meet Him'. As we look at the signs, can we hear in them the Lord's gracious invitation to arise and shine? It's time, isn't it, to trim our lamps and respond from our hearts to the fathomless love of God.

A - Signs of a New Era in Adventism and Protestantism

1. In the GC session in San Antonio on July 8, 2015, Seventh-day Adventists voted not to allow regional church bodies to ordain women pastors. The leadership of the North American Division immediately rejected the vote and set in motion the current schism between western Adventism and the rest of the church. Two years later on October 9, 2017 at the Autumn Council the leaders of the GC voted to enact a new disciplinary policy and procedure rather than using the available method. This was the final signal that no effective disciplinary action would be taken. The October 9 meeting was more significant than most Adventists think in that it marked both the death and the rebirth of Adventism. In the same way that the crucifixion outwardly appeared to mark the death of the ministry of Christ, Biblical Adventism appeared on October 9 to suffer a death blow, but in fact the opposite occurred - it marked the beginning of a renaissance. The Lord made it clear on that day that it's not by human might or power but only by the Holy Spirit that His spiritual temple will be rebuilt.

2. On September 24, 2015, for the first time in American history Pope Francis addressed the free world and the joint sessions of Congress as the world's preeminent moral authority, fulfilling Revelation 13:3, "And his deadly wound was healed and all the world wondered after the beast." Four months earlier on June 18, 2015 the Pope published his encyclical Laudato Si (Praise be to Thee) "On Care for Our Common Home" in which he calls for the global observance of Sunday as the best solution to climate change and as essential to the global common good. The encyclical title is borrowed from Laudato Si or The Canticle to the Sun written in the 13th century by Francis of Assisi, the Pope's namesake, in which the sun and mother earth are venerated in the pagan tradition. These pagan style references to the sun and earth are quoted by the Pope in the first paragraph of the encyclical.

Since his address to congress the Pope has been the single most influential leader in promoting global acceptance of the LGBT lifestyle, in pressuring Christian nations to open their boarders to a flood of Muslim and Catholic migrants, in climate activism, in class warfare in the name of defending the poor. But the most diabolical thrust of the Pope has been in exalting political correctness in place of the absolute truths of the word of God, effectively silencing the testimony of the Two Witnesses, slaying them in the streets of Sodom and Egypt. And his lead is being followed in the Protestant churches and to a large extent in western Adventism. Since the fall of 2015 all of the world has been aligning themselves with the beast and wondering after him. This is in fulfillment of the prophecy of Daniel 7 and Revelation 5 and 6 of the events that transpire when the court of heaven convenes and the scroll is unrolled:



B - Signs of the Seals

1. The first seal - The Conquering White Horse.

1. Since 2015 the gospel has gone in power to certain parts of the Muslim world such as Iran.
2. As people in the west and around the globe have witnessed the rejection of western culture many have turned to their Bibles for answers. As they've seen social chaos, the breakdown of the family and the disregard for biblical morality, as they witness corruptions and false doctrines overrun the Christian churches many have become seekers for truth. Angels have led multitudes of these hungering souls to Christ, to the gospel, the Ten Commandments and the Sabbath. This is the start of the latter rain. Since 2015 especially gospel workers and angels have sown the seeds. Soon a large harvest will be reaped.

2. The second seal - The red horse of strife and war

1. Protests and conflicts around the globe saw a marked escalation since 2015. 2019 witnessed protests across the globe, many of them ongoing still. The common factor was dissatisfaction and discontent with leadership. The protests tend to be a galvanizing of the poor and unrepresented against the rich and influential.
2. Tensions in the Middle East are at a new high with proxy wars being fought by the world's super powers. These tensions threaten to escalate further into full scale global war.

3. The Third seal - the black horse of scarcity and famine

1. Global hunger has come to America where millions of children of addicted parents routinely go unfed.
2. Plagues of locusts in several African nations have wiped out much of the crops making famine certain unless the situation is somehow ameliorated.
3. The Coronavirus threatens to cause widespread food shortages as people panic and hoard provisions. This horse forebodes economic collapse, scarcity and food shortages on a large scale.

4. The Fourth seal - the pale horse of plague and death

1. Since 2015 a variety of deadly viruses have emerged globally such as Ebola, and now Coronavirus. In about a month this virus has become the worst in modern times. At the time of writing this global efforts are afoot to contain it by quarantine but so far these measures have not been effective.

5. The Fifth Seal - Christian martyrs.

1. The numbers of Christian martyrs have multiplied since 2015.

6. The Sixth Seal - Sun darkened, moon turned to blood and a great earthquake

1. Wild fires of biblical proportions have repeatedly darkened the sun since 2015. Five days after the Pope addressed the joint sessions of Congress the fourth blood moon of the 2014 ? 2015 blood moon tetrad occurred on September 28, 2015. On August 21, 2017 a total solar eclipse crossed the USA. Wikipedia states that "prior to this event, no solar eclipse had been visible across the entire United States since June 8, 1918; not since the February 1979 eclipse had a total eclipse been visible from anywhere in the mainland United States". The great earthquake associated with this seal is still future and we can expect more marked fulfillments in the sun and moon as well.

C - Signs of the Trumpets

1. The first trumpet - hail and fire mingled with blood are thrown on the earth. October 9, 2017 a small meteorite or cluster of them fell in the Napa Valley of California and within a few hours several fires had simultaneously taken hold of the area, destroying over 7000 homes and businesses and vineyards, killing 40. Authorities have attributed most of the fires to power transmission equipment failures but there is credible evidence of meteorites being a major cause. Since then several more unprecedented fires and hail storms have ravished Australia, Brazil, Canada, the USA, Greece and other countries. The main fulfillment however is likely in the future. See comments on the fourth trumpet below.
2. The second trumpet - a mountain cast into the sea that kills marine life and destroys a third of the ships. Relatively few ships have been lost so far but recently there have been unprecedented die offs of marine life.
3. The third trumpet - a star falls from heaven named woodworm that contaminates a third of earth's fresh water supplies. Millions presently do not have access to clean drinking water. In the future this situation will apparently worsen suddenly.
4. The fourth trumpet - a third of the sun, moon and stars is darkened. Smoke from fires and volcanic eruptions have darkened the sky several times since 2015. Joel speaks of the darkening of the sun, moon and stars. "The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness. They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief. The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?" This darkening of the sky, the earthquakes and the incendiary results sound to me like unprecedented volcanic activity.
5. The fifth trumpet, first woe - the abyss is unlocked, smoke pours forth and locusts emerge for that have powerful stings that hurt but don't kill. This appears to be linked to the enforcement of the mark of the beast since the locusts only afflict those with the mark. Side note: In the fifth plague there is darkness and intense pain similar to the fourth and fifth trumpets respectively.
6. The sixth trumpet, second woe - a voice from the altar releases the four angels at the Euphrates to kill a third of mankind. These horses bellow fire and brimstone and smoke from their mouths and tails that do the killing. This must be future. It is similar to the sixth plague.
7. The seventh trumpet ? third woe - Christ takes his throne and reigns. The temple is open and there is thunder, voices, lightening, a great earthquake and hail. This is also future. It is similar to the seventh plague.

"The wise shall understand. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." Dan 12:10, 3.

What's in May?

The May Vatican meetings will be yet another mile stone in healing the deadly wound. The gathering is called "Reinventing the Global Education Alliance". The Vatican News website says: "The initiative seeks to "rekindle our dedication for and with young people, renewing our passion for a more open and inclusive education, including patient listening, constructive dialogue, and better mutual understanding," according to the Pope."

Regarding the healing in 2015, I'm not offering that to create yet another prophecy camp. Some Adventists view 1929 as prophetically significant and I agree that it was a partial fulfillment. In my view, 2015 was another partial fulfillment but there is one more - when the mark of the beast is enforced. I posted this to draw attention to the 2015 fulfillment because, in my view, it marks the start the four apocalyptic horsemen. Momentous events are ahead. We'll know soon by world events whether the horsemen have been released - possibly before May.

Again, I posted this to draw attention to the 2015 fulfillment because, in my view, it marks the start the four apocalyptic horsemen. If we lived in China now where more than half of the population, twice the population of the USA, is under quarantine and marshal law, we'd be more awake, more inclined to see the four horsemen in these things.

Earlier this week I asked the CEO of Riverplace Capital, a leading private wealth management company in Jacksonville Florida if the Coronavirus was causing him any anxiety and shaping the company's investment choices. He said that there is a risk that it will cause the same panic here but he thinks there is a good chance that we'll escape most of the impact because of warmer weather reducing it's spread. I think he's overly optimistic because we all have a normalcy bias. We need a prophecy bias. Regarding the Coronavirus, the next month to six weeks will tell the story here in North America. So far, the Hong Kong professor's trajectory has been accurate regarding the spread.

I'd say be prepared mentally for adjusting to a new economic norm. The prophecies indicate American dominance but the Bible and Ellen White (in the last or second last chapter of Christ Object Lessons, "To Meet the Bridegroom" I think,) both indicate that some calamity will threaten humanity. She implies that this is what brings on the persecution. I have the picture of Americans trying to lead the world out of economic and political chaos, attempting to salvage what they can through marshal law made essential by panic, lawlessness, war and global shortages - the ravages of the four horsemen. Americans will only part with their freedoms if, in their minds, there's no alternative.

Why wait until May? 2 April 2020 is a month before that.

But we don't want to warn anyone here prematurely.

The prevailing wisdom here says wait for it to happen and then when it is too late to warn anyone, we might be able to talk about what we might have done if we had not waited. But if the conversation (after an event) should prove that the date of a prophecy fulfilled confirmed that the predicted date aligned with an event that happened after 1844, then we won't be able to talk about it because it would prove that time prophecies continued after 1844: The powers that be have determined that time prophecy after 1844 is not an acceptable prophetic interpretation.

It looks like a death sentence: Stay in ignorance until it happens. Say nothing. Do nothing. And when it is too late to warn anyone stand in the judgment and give an account for the sins of omission .
