Has anyone else noticed an extra increase in sensationalism in the news? Or has it always been there and I'm just noticing it. But it seems lots of the headlines are just so dramatic. Lots about aliens, ufos, disasters, or potential disasters.
For example, here's a sky is falling one.
Giant Hole at the Bottom of the Ocean Is Leaking Strange Liquid That May Indicate a DisasterThe article goes from a fresh water spring in the ocean, to speculation it prevents the plates from shifting, to "loss" of fluid, to "leaking". "Leaks" suggests that it's not supposed to be rather than just a natural spring in the ocean. Maybe they could plug it up or blow it up and see what happens. But there's always speculative disaster looming in the background ready to do the earth in.
All that's missing in this article is a suggestion that maybe this is where all the aliens are hiding why scientists have never found any in the past.
Oops. Spoke too soon.
Mariana Trench: Researchers Discovered Deepest Trace of Organic Material For Alien Life "Though the team did not find intact microbes, they did discover tantalizing traces of organic material. However, this organic material has clue about the survivability of alien life in hostile of environments like subduction zone."
But are they talking about microbes or aliens? Or is this a conditioning of calling microbes aliens so that later they can present "real" aliens without alarming people so much.
