Did Mary give birth to any other children since the birth of Jesus?

Does the Bible say anything about this, or is the Bible silent about this?

Somewhat inbetween: The Bible says that Joseph did not know Mary until after she gave birth to Jesus. There is evidence in the Bible that the brother's were all older than Jesus (the way they wanted to take control over him, and that Jesus assigned Mary to be cared for by John. If Mary had any other son's they would have taken the job.) but we are told that he had brothers and sisters, with out details as to whether the sisters were older or younger or both. Thus from what the Bible says and does not say, if Mary had other children they would have been girls.

So she could have given birth to girls?

If Jesus assigned John because he didn't want the older brothers taking care of her, He could just as well have chosen John over any younger brothers.

But the answer is, likely. And not really important, right?

It is important to the RC in relation to the titles they have given to Mary.

Yes. The evidence for the brothers indicate that they were older, but we have no indication about the ages of the sisters. A son would have been expected to take care of his mother. If Mary was the mother of the brothers one of them would have taken care of her. If Jesus was her only son it would be his responsibility, and he took that responsibility and asked John to carry it out.
