Listening to Veith''s 232 "What's Up Prof", he made an interesting observation.
Adventists have long believed honoring our Creator God has Sabbath keeping as a very important part of worshipping our Creator. Kirk's new book could very well be a catalyst to get a sleepy Adventist church, who are only feebly giving the three angel's message to the world, to wake up. God is using people outside the church to make a huge impact and get people thinking about this very important issue. God wants this message sounded throughout the world!
A book "Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life"
It's ranking as the top most sold book already, though there's still days before it is published!
That book talks about the Saturday Sabbath of the Bible. It will point people to the Bible Sabbath.
Yes, Kirk's voice on the matter is silenced, and there is no doubt Sunday religionists will say he was too "fanatical" on "the old day", but they will use the rest of his words calling people to honor the Sabbath to promote the supposed new "Christian" Sabbath.
Yet, it opens the door for the knowledge concerning the Sabbath to open wide. It places the question as to "which day is the true day" into the minds of millions.
No matter what people may say about Charlie Kirk, he appears to have been a man searching for truth and with desire to spread what he saw as God's truth.
His stepping out to promote the Sabbath of the Bible, in his society that honors Sunday, shows he was seeking for truth.
He opened the door on which day is the Biblical Sabbath issue, right in the center of a society strong on pushing for Sunday!!!
While his "Turning Point" ministry may use his influence to bring in Sunday laws, etc. and while he may have erred on his more nationalistic view points, points which may strengthen into an even more powerful movement on the wave of the emotional reaction to his tragic end, yet the fact he wrote that book shows that God's hand is also there. God is working, often in ways we would never dream of, to bring truth before the minds of people, that as many as possible will choose to enter His kingdom of salvation.
There is no way the religious right wing can now bring in Sunday as necessary to honor God, without meeting resistance by people pointing to scripture saying, "but, God blessed and sanctified a different day, and its not Sunday." And no, it won't be just Adventist saying this!
Though Adventists should be upholding the true Sabbath and the urgency to spread that message world wide, and looking to see how truth can be spread, not always looking to find a "negative".
As men then reject the institution which God has declared to be the sign of his authority, and honor in its stead that which Rome has chosen as the token of her supremacy, they will thereby accept the sign of allegiance to Rome??the mark of the beast.? And it is not until the issue is thus plainly set before the people, and they are brought to choose between the commandments of God and the commandments of men, that those who continue in transgression will receive "the mark of the beast." {GC88 449.1}
I think God wants to have this issue plainly set before the people.
Thus He saw to it, that it came from an unexpected and influential source, from one who had more dedication to it's value than most 7th day Adventists who profess to be keeping it.
For indeed, God's saints, are those who with patience and perseverance keep God's commandments and have the faith of Jesus. Rev. 14:12
