CPSI, Center for Science in the Public Interest, keeps track of such things as truthfullness in food labeling. Now they have rated the meatless products that can be found in most supermarkets. Find out what they think of them, and maybe learn about some new products your supermarket isn't carrying. Meatless MarvelsHave you tried any of these products? If you have, how would you rate them? What about other commercially made meat substitues?[ April 04, 2002: Message edited by: Linda Sutton ]

Linda, Your Meatless Marvels link no longer seems to be working. Are you able to come with a corrected link?

This looks like a case of a slip-up; if you work backwards, there's still material there. The original link posted by Linda was http://www.cspinet.org/nah/03_02/index.html ; which doesn't work. But just delete the "index.html" part, and the result, http://www.cspinet.org/nah/03_02/ , is a working page. There you see links to http://www.cspinet.org/nah/03_02/cspinews.html and http://www.cspinet.org/nah/03_02/morethanmeats.pdf , (a meat analog brand name rating chart in Adobe Acrobat format) and to the parent directory, http://www.cspinet.org/nah/ There you see that the March 2002 "Brand-Name Rating - Meatless Marvels" column still appears as a text heading, but is no longer a link. Though the PDF document evidently associated with it still exists on the server. (interesting chart, BTW) Just an inadvertent deletion, it looks like, for whatever reason.
