Chantale, did you scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "history?" The history page has links that lead to various parts of the history of anabaptists as well as on the history page. I haven't taken the time to read it all. I knew that the Mennonites, the Amish, and the Baptists had all come out of the anabaptists. They were terribly persecuted for their disbelief in infant baptism. Infant baptism came about as the result of belief in the doctrine of original sin. That is the doctrine which says that every child born is born with Adam's guilt. The Bible teaches that we are born with a fallen nature, but we are not guilty of anyone's sins but our own. The anabaptists rejected the Catholic doctrine of orginial sin and believed that people should be baptized when they were old enough to understand the difference between right and wrong and surrendered their lives to Jesus.
Zyph, it's a good website.
