We did this study at our local weekly Prayer & Bible Study Meeting last Wednesday which was led out by Dedreic Grecian, a member of MSDAOL, therefore, you may also hear from him or his lovely wife, Lorelei, also a member of MSDAOL, here.
Let us share here some of what was presented there.
First of all, the apostle Paul is very careful about the words he uses when he talks about the antichrist, who he is, and when he should come around. Dedreic and Lorelei's notes state that
parousia is the same word used throughout to describe Christ's second coming. I assume they also mean that the same word is referring to the actual existence or presence of the antichrist.
Are you also aware that the word
antichrist is found only 5 times in thw whole Bible?
I am going to do a word search on the software Bible program and see what comes up.
Numbers 1 and 2:
1 John 2:18 Little children, it is [the] last hour, and, according as ye have heard that
antichrist comes, even now there have come many
antichrists, whence we know that it is [the] last hour.
Number 3:
1 John 2:22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? *He* is the
antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.
Number 4:
1 John 4:3 and every spirit which does not confess Jesus Christ come in flesh is not of God: and this is that [power] of the
antichrist, [of] which ye have heard that it comes, and now it is already in the world.
Number 5:
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, they who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh -- this is the deceiver and the
antichrist. The search ended at 5 verifying the correctness of Dedreic's and Lorelei's notes.
From the above texts we discover:
1 - Antichrist is not only singular but also plural.
2 - Antichrist means instead of Christ.
3 - Deceit is the antichrist's dominant strategy.
4 - The Antichrist is now in the world.
5 - The Antichrist begins in the church but ends in the world of deception.
6 - Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is antichrist.
7 - True believers must overcome antichrist.
8 - The spirit of antichrist denies that Jesus has come in the flesh. This last one is an interesting one. What does this mean? How does the spirit of antichrist deny that Jesus came in the flesh?
This is a good place to end this post to see who can answer the questions in point number 8.
