Barriers of religion, race and nationality were dissolved by the tsunami disaster, Prime Minister John Howard said on Sunday night, as he praised the Indian community for its contribution to the aid effort.

Prime Minister John Howard has used an address during Friday prayers at an inner-city mosque in Sydney to highlight the strength of unity Australians have shown in their response to the tsunami disaster....

"We are reminded of the things that unite us, not the things that divide us," Mr Howard said.

"That the values of the great religions of the world have so much in common, and the decency of the people who profess those religions genuinely, they have so much in common."

One set of comments made at a Hindu temple, the other at a Muslim mosque. It's not hard to see how such disasters can lead to a worldwide collaboration between the majority religions, just as we've been told will happen; Great Controversy pages 589-590 for example.
