--a Catholic book dealing with the apparitions of Mary --
you will find, that "Our Lady of Guadalupe" does mean "She Who Crushes the Serpent"". (the Catholics ascribe that meaning to the apparition called "Lady of Guadalope" whether the actual place name means it or no. That title is given to the apparition.
See pages 21
"Our Lady of Guadalope means, She Who Crushes the Serpent...Our Lady crushed the serpent in the Americas, ending the brutal Aztec practice of human sacrifice. The role of Our Lady of Guadalupe in this century is to crush the seprent and end our own era's resumption of human sacrifice-- through approved abortion.".
Then on pages 125-128 It tells the whole story of her miraculous appearance that convinced the Indians to start honoring her and being "converted". Then in 1990 she started appearing in Seattle asking that all the pro-lifers be assembled under her banner as "Protector of the Unborn".
You'll find the title in many web pages dealing with the apparitions of Mary.
They believe it is Mary, not Jesus, who crushes the head of the serpent.
