My phone has been dead for 4 weeks, since August 15, so I have had no Internet access during that time either. They finally got it fixed yesterday morning, and I am very glad to be back.

Nothing major happened - just the results of an electrical storm. But the phone company has been getting farther and farther behind this summer, and taking longer and longer to get out here. They are in big trouble with the state, and hearings are being held. They will probably get a huge fine, but that is no help to those of us who were/are stuck waiting for them to show up.

The problem is that they reduced their workforce by about 2500 empolyees throughout the state in the last 4 or 5 years, even while they have added thousands of new lines. They claimed that new technology made it easier/quicker to take care of problems. But they weren't prepared for the unusually high number of storms we have had this year. Some people have had to wait even longer than we did.

And I thought it was plainly a felony when they (phone company) took an entire 8 days to fix our phone due to forest fires last summer!

If you think that was bad, our cable went out one morning this summer...3 hours without CNN--What is this world coming to!?
