Record new HIV cases in '05: UN

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Almost 5 million people were infected by HIV globally in 2005, the highest jump since the first reported case in 1981 and taking the number living with the virus to a record 40.3 million, the United Nations said on Monday.

The 4.9 million new infections were fueled by the epidemic's continuing rampage in sub-Saharan Africa and a spike in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, the UNAIDS body said in its annual report.

"Despite progress made in a small but growing number of countries, the AIDS epidemic continues to outstrip global efforts to contain it," the report said.

More than 3.1 million people have died this year from AIDS, including 570,000 children -- far more than the toll from all natural disasters since last December's tsunami.

Since the scientific statement is that "HIV is the probable cause of AIDS", I'm free to say that I don't believe it is.

Knowledge is power, and with enough facts to hand science's probability is disbelievable.

Just last week another case was reported, this time in the national - British - TV news, that a man in his early 20's has been tested free of the virus one year after a positive test - without resorting to drugs. There are many, many, many cases round the world of 'recovery' from an HIV diagnosis without use of the prescribed medication. Uganda did so on a national basis.

www.virusmyth.net is just one source of scientific opinion challenging the drugs companies, whom the HIV=AIDS hypothesis gives business to. There are other sites: a word search for HIV dissidents will show a few.

www.credence.org is the publisher for the Campaign for Truth in Medicine, based in Tonbridge, Kent, England (weblink from Credence), which is run by Christian researchers into the health industry. They are self-supporting via book sales, and have proven themselves trustworthy in their findings. They applaud the Seventh-day Adventist preferred diet for our relative 50% lower cancer rate compared to our neighbouring communities...

They propose a fool proof natural cancer prevention and therapy method. I didn't say treatment or cure, since those are words 'owned' by drug companies.

The best answer to an HIV positive test is to ignore the medical prescription that comes with it, and secure an optimally balanced and nutritious diet.

The HIV test is ascertaining the T-cell count in the body's immune system: a low count only proves that the immune system is under exertion and is busy, or is actually weak - caused by anything from the common cold and pregnancy and more severe conditions, or poor diet or lifestyle. The answer is to strengthen the immune system.

What do you make of that, then?....Or am I addressing 'the converted'.

I think that when it comes to these different diseases, like with the SARS outbreak, nowadays they are so afraid to quarantine anyone for fear of seeming to be (whatever it is they are afraid of)... that they wait till its too late and the diseases are spread all over the place then there isnt anything you can do about it.

In Bible times when people had things like leprosy they were quarantined so that everyone else wouldnt get the disease as well.

Prov:12:10: ..."the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel"

The Spirit of Prophecy says that "severity to a few may prove mercy to many".

but they are so worried about the "rights" of someone who has a disease that they wont isolate them... then everyone else comes down with the disease and their supposed "niceness" ends up being the cruelest thing imaginable.

Colin, you are absolutely correct in your post. There are places even here in the USA where one can go and if willing to follow a good healthy diet along with abstaining from a gay lifestyle (should that be the case), they have 100% cures of any HIV/AIDS.

I'm sure the drug companies don't like this kind of information.

Errr...yes & no: The drug companies don't like the healthy lifestyle solution - diet therapy actually: not just 3 square meals a day! But, from our point of view, the moral lifestyle causes are unscientific, as well.

It never had anything to do with unnatural sexual perversion or illicit 'anything else'! Which leaves us believers without any moral angle to address it or challenge it on. Which is for the better, really...

The most proactive option is legally to challenge any obligatory HIV testing or refuse any optional tests, so as to avoid the worry in the first place.

It isn't a disease - doesn't even fit the medical definition of an infectious disease, but merely evidence that one's health needs a boost. And that's what the Adventist lifestyle is good at promoting.

Do I sense here an angle to revive the health message in the wider world?

Medically, no-one knows, since "probably" is the best they can give.

Otherwise, it is a weakened immune system - which medicine doesn't take notice off, resulting in any disease which is lucky enough to take hold, with the eased access.

Aids isn't Aids anyway: there are just diseases "associated with Aids". Hence diseases which get in under the radar of a weakened immune system.

Terribly sad about politics & journalism playing off each other.

Whether or not HIV causes AIDS or not is not the issue that should concern us as much as Christians should be proclaiming the truth that if we were to follow the laws of God so many of these terrible diseases would not be happening. Promiscuity and drug use are two major causes of many sicknesses, if people would refrain from these things think of how much better off the world would be.

My apologies for appearing to speak out of turn, Doctor. How can the HIV test be relied on since it doesn't test for a retrovirus - a speculative virus at that, and what it does test for - low T-cell count - is commonly caused by normal ailments, and not a putative retrovirus?

As for that healthy diet, why are hetrosexuals getting positive tests???

What toxic effect does the HIV medication have on a weakened immune system?

I'm happy to hear a medical opinion, since all available information is valuable - but discretion is used by all in evaluating that info; also such as I've presented.
