Hi everyone, I just heard about this forum and I enjoyed reading your posts.

This is a questions and would like someone to help me understand, is the Jubilee Calender still going or has it ended in 1994? If we caculate from the start of the calender in 1437 BC, we have 7 times 10 Jubilee cycles(1 cycle = 490 years, 7 X 490 = 3430 years which brings us to 1994).

Do you believe the church is required to observe the cyclic feast days and years and ceremonies?

25:8 And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.
25:9 Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth [day] of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
25:10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
25:11 A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather [the grapes] in it of thy vine undressed.
25:12 For it [is] the jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

Sorry, my question is poorly formulated and I need to expand.

Yes, the Jubilee year was celebrated on the 1st year of the next Jubilee cycle, but a jubilee cycle in the calendar remains 49 years(Lev 25:8). I’m not suggesting here to return the land to it’s original owner, but rather looking into God’s way of viewing time and communicating prophecies.

Here are two main prophecies:

1. 70 weeks -- Israel to finish transgression, make end of sin, make reconciliation for iniquity, bring everlasting righteousness, seal the vision, anoint the most Holy (Dn 9:24)

This prophecy started at the beginning of a Jubilee Calendar cycle of 490 years and ended on the last week of that cycle -- From 457 BC to 33 AD -- In this prophecy, God employed the language of weeks, 70 weeks -- which is (7 x 7years) x 10 cycle. Plus this prophecy ends after the cross.

2. 2,300 evenings and mornings -- Until temple restored (Dn 8:14)
It start at the beginning of a Jubilee cycle 457 BC but God does not employ the language of weeks because the prophecy does not end on a Jubilee cycle week year. 2,300 days = 328 weeks plus 5 days. This cannot be stated in full weeks, so days is used. Again, this prophecy ends beyond the cross.
There’s many other parallel that could be made with the Jubilee Calendar; could it be that God still tracks time using this calendar?

Here’s are some time periods used and possibly used :

Day : Sunset to Sunset

7 X Day = Week : rest on the 7th Day

7 X years : rest land on the 7th year

7 X 7years : “Seven Sabbath of Year” Lev 25: 8 = 49 years  You had a year to give properties to original owner, set slaves free and prepare for the – 50th year to be a holy year that proclaims Liberty and was a Sabbatical year , which was on the day of Atonement on the 10th day of the 7 month.

49years X 10 : 70 weeks prophecy 457BC to 33 AD. Jesus Crucified

490 years X 7 : Could 1994 be the end of the last Jubilee Calendar cycle we will live to see on this earth?
From Exodus 1437BC to 33AD there is 3 X 490years cycle. From 34AD to 1994, there is 4 X 490 years cycle

7 X 1000 years : A possibility that there is 6000 years of sin which God intended that we do not know exactly what year sin started, but we do know we are close to the end.

Elle, thank you for sharing. Jesus was particular about the feast days while He was here. He fulfilled the passover (crucifixion), the unleavened bread (resting in the grave), the first fruits (resurrection), and the feat of weeks (pentecost) in real time (day for a day).

However, the day of atonement has been going on for 164 years now. This deviates from how Jesus fulfilled the Spring feast days, namely, they were fulfilled in real time - a day for a day. I'm not sure what to make of the fact the first two Fall feast days, the trumpets (Millerite Movement) and the day of atonement (investigative judgment), were not also fulfilled in real time.

Passover fell on the eve of Christ's death. As you said, Christ was particular about the feast days. How could He have celebrated Passover on the wrong day?

Jesus celebrate the Passover with His disciples the night before the rest of the Jews did. He celebrated it on Thursday night, whereas the rest of the Jews celebrated it Friday night. The passover lamb, Jesus, was killed on Friday.

That was a never-to-be-forgotten Sabbath to the sorrowing disciples, and also to the priests, rulers, scribes, and people. At the setting of the sun on the evening of the preparation day the trumpets sounded, signifying that the Sabbath had begun. The Passover was observed as it had been for centuries, while He to whom it pointed had been slain by wicked hands, and lay in Joseph's tomb. {DA 774.2}

Thanks for that observation Elle. I think you're right that the Jubilees ended in 1994. About 4 years ago I concluded that the second coming of Christ is not linked to the jubilee cycle. But it appears to be linked to the 1000 year cycle: 4000 years of sin takes us to 31 AD. 2000 years more takes us from the cross to 2031 AD which is the latest that Christ can return. But He will finish the work early and cut it short in righteousness. I was listening to David Gates yesterday online. He says he holds the same view that 2031 is the latest that Christ can return and that he first heard it from Edward Reid of the GC. I hadn't heard Reid. My conclusion is the same as his though.

This thought about Christ coming no later than 2031 AD and most likely sooner fits right into the two other studies in the New Light forum being discussed here in which Christ will return within the lifetime of the present Pope.
