My wife is pursuing a divorce in order that she can solidify her adulterous relationship with a coworker. I'm not coping with this situation well at all. Last year I was laid off from work and then my wife quickly threatened to have me physically abused by her relatives if I didn't move out. I did not understand why until I found out about her "friend" Rick.
For the past seven months I've been suffering paralyzing depression, making finding work nearly impossible. I know that Satan is doing this to destroy me in his war to stop my proof against the atheistic Big Bang theory, unfortunately, I'm starting to crack under the pressure. I'm unable to cope with a divorce.
I need serious help from the Holy Spirit. (I'm trying not to give up.)

The devil goes about like a roaring lion to devour whoever he can devour, especially Seventh-day Adventists, therefore, he is using her to try and do just that.
My prayer for you is that you don't let the devil in using her be successful.
What is happening to you now is peanuts in comparison to what it will be like for us all in the time of trouble.
Right now you are having your own little time of trouble in relation to the "time of trouble", therefore, think about our Sabbath School Lesson #11 that we had last week on optimism and be thankful that the Lord can and will see you through.

I got through Father's Day even though my wife prevented the kids from seeing or even talking to me. (I don't know why I still love her anymore, but I do, even more than I should.) Despite what's going on, I'm still praying that my marriage will mend it's self before "D day".
The idea of financially supporting a spouse's immoral lifestyle (which isn't exactly the best spiritual atmosphere for raising children) under the guise of child support is a painful one. I know that God holds both parents accountable for their children's spiritual welfare thus I will share the blame.
For most, this situation would be difficult, but for myself it is impossible. If I only had a choice of living a life of rebellion against God or to be stoned to death with no opportunity of eternal salvation, I'd much prefer being stoned.
I recognize that Satan is distorting my thoughts in order that I feel this way but the feelings persist none the less. I am in very serious trouble. The Devil is attempting to use my own emotions to become my deadliest enemy.

The devil uses our emotions/feelings to attack us, therefore, I am praying for both you and her.

Thank you greatly. I've been seeing many recent things occurring in my life that evidence how God is working very hard to keep my life from completely derailing. All he seems to be asking me in return is that I maintain faith.
The fact that I know what's going on doesn't make things any easier. I am still trying to persevere. I wish God would talk with my wife, but if she doesn't want to hear his voice, the act of forcing her to would violate her freedom of free will. I do not like saying it, but I suspect Stacy has closed her self off to the Holy Spirit's influence. (I'm still praying that this isn't true, maybe she thinks she's doing the right thing for some reason.)
I wish I knew what to do. I've been sulking over this for seven months now and I know it isn't God's will that I behave this way.

She let me talk to her and the kids today. Even so, she's still continuing with divorce proceedings on Wednesday.
I still love her. What's wrong with me.

I am happy to hear that she let you talk to both her and the children. There's nothing wrong with you still loving her in the same manner as God still loving the world as in John 3:16.

I'm going to call her again today. Hope it goes well.
There are only two more days until this first legal meeting.

We are praying for both you and her. Praying that the Holy Spirit will woo her to the Saviour.
