I had never heard of all this wheat stuff until recently. Why wasn't it a problem in the past? I personally known a person who imagined they and their whole family had a gluten intolerance. It seems a very popular thing, right now. I'm not sure there really is a problem. Of course, there are some people with real problems, but that doesn't mean there is a real problem at the present popularity.
I see things about schools not allowing peanut butter sandwiches in because there might be someone who's allergic to it. But yet, there's no talk about not allowing eggs and dairy in. It seems there is an accelerated hype on some things, but inconsistencies in others.
"1. Wheat is Loaded With Gluten"
Ok, why is this big news? That's the main reason wheat is used for bread is because it is loaded with Gluten!
"2. Wheat Spikes Blood Sugar Rapidly"
Does it? Does
whole wheat spike blood sugar rapidly?
Are we talking about high glycemic indexes are we talking about healthy foods? Is there something else about refined foods than merely their glycemic index? Should you eat no foods with a glycemic index at or above 71? Why 71? What about watermelon, should one never eat watermelon?
I was going to go through the other questions, but I bore easily. Especially when I get a feel for the article. Do their questions and the studies listed involve whole wheat or wheat how the average population takes it? In comparing LDL, no mention was made of refined wheat? Seems they were specifically making a dig at whole wheat. At least they didn't say we must eat meat!
Could it be that if one ate a variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains prepare in as a simple manner as possible that one needn't worry about whole wheat bread?
Could it be that those who consume pastries and white refined bread, sugar, and all sorts of packaged "food" would not have any problem with whole wheat bread if they gave up their junk food?
Ooops! There it is:
