I have been wondering if God wanted me to attend another one of our churches here in the city; and I said to him in prayer a few weeks ago; "I'm not going back unless someone calls and specifically asks me to do something. If no one calls by the New Year; then I'll carry on with my plans at this other church."
I know you aren't really supposed to tell God how to answer prayer, but in this case; I just said it the way it was in my mind. I figured God could make straight, whatever was crooked!
Well, two weeks ago, someone called and asked me to join the men's singing group; and I hollered at the Lord in my discouragement: "That doesn't count Lord! You have to do better than that!"
Now; just this week, someone called and asked me if I would be willing to start up a new Sabbath School Class when we get into our new church building! I had to concede...God answered my prayer quite clearly here!
So I am asking for ongoing prayer for this new class! I am not being assigned to a class already established. I have to start a totally new one, and literally go down the street and bring new people into the class! The class has to start on the week of Jan.20th.
Pray specifically that God would send new people who are searching for Truth. I am considering several unique ideas that would be good for outreach, through this class. I still need to figure out exactly what God wants me to do there!
