Zyph,
Sorry I haven't posted here before, for, I have so many blessings I can't count them, although, as you know, sometimes the way I complain, you'd think not.
I feel like I have told this story two or three times on here already, but, if so, bear with me, I will be like Paul, and tell it again:
Because my children and grandchildren live so far away, I had wished I could send them e-mail. Now, all I could do on a computer was type, and when I was visiting my daughter in MI, I would type e-mails to our pastor's wife here at home, and each keep up with all that was going on. But, I wouldn't even try to send the e-mails. that was how little I knew.
One night, in a phone conversation, I mentioned wishing for a way to keep in closer touch with the children, maybe by e-mail. This Christian Brother said, "Have you ever prayed for a computer?" I said no, and I know I was thinking, "And I never have prayed for a million dollars, either." He then asked if it was OK if we prayed for a computer. Three weeks later, my granddaughter called all excited, telling me that she and Mama had something for me. Someone had donated a computer (old and small) to the church, and their pastor had asked my daughter, the church secretary, if she knew someone who would like to have it. They were coming down the next month, and the rest is history......
The blessings turned out to be quite different than I ever imagined, though. Last night, I said to my husband, "And we used to wonder how it could be that when Jesus comes, 'Every eye will see Him,' on a round world. Now, I said, I type a message, it goes to Canada, and a Brother in CA is reading it, and a Sister in Australia. All in the space of a few seconds." And, we know that the power of God is so much more than that....
So, the many blessings I have received have really been that I can witness to maybe someone who doesn't know Jesus; also interact with others of like faith in Jesus anytime I have a few minutes to do so. And... that my "Church Family" has enlarged and keeps enlarging!! I have actually made friends on the internet, friends I will never meet until in Heaven, but, that I love dearly. Zyph, you know that you are one of them who is so Special! I thank God for all of you. I have studied my Bible and SOP more and in a different way, as I compare my thoughts with thoughts of others. I wake each AM believing that one of my "Family" will have sent me a "good morning," and, they always do. Ed, those ARE some of God's hugs, you are so right!! And, I look forward to David's prayer ministry letters, and check to see if Daryl is around. Somehow, he makes me feel like the day is going well, when he is there.
Yes, those are some of my blessings today! And Did I mention that today feels like Springtime? I have both the front and back doors open, thought I'd get some fresh air in here. It's an absolutely georgeous day in KY, and, I am going outside in a little while. God is so Good!!!
