I came across the following and was reminded of some others who talk lot, appears to make cohesion, but what they are saying is just a bunch of jabbering. Here's the site. What do others think?
http://www.abarim-publications.com/Bible_Commentary/1Kings7v23.html

I especially was struck by the lack of topic, cohesion, logic, etc. and the free flowing [fill-in-the-blank] by the following:
Quote:
The solution of the 1 Kings 7:23 pi-conundrum reflects perhaps the oldest conflict of all. In the heart of the garden of Eden there were two trees: the Tree Of Life from which Adam and Eve could eat freely, and the Tree Of Knowledge Of Good and Evil. Contrary to common understanding, this latter tree was as perfect as the rest of Paradise and its function was firmly fixed within the large scheme of things. What that function exactly was we don't know, but its fruits were not suited for consumption, lethal when attempted. But before Eve ate, before the fall, hence with her truthful observations in tact, she noted that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes and that the tree was desirable to make wise. How this tree was to do this is unknown, but certainly not by having its fruits depended on for food and sustenance.

Many think that they must consult commentaries on the Scriptures in order to understand the meaning of the word of God, and we would not take the position that commentaries should not be studied; but it will take much discernment to discover the truth of God under the mass of the words of men. How little has been done by the church, as a body professing to believe the Bible, to gather up the scattered jewels of God's word into one perfect chain of truth! The jewels of truth do not lie upon the surface, as many suppose. The master mind in the confederacy of evil is ever at work to keep the truth out of sight, and to bring into full view the opinions of great men. The enemy is doing all in his power to obscure heaven's light through educational processes; for he does not mean that men shall hear the voice of the Lord, saying, "This is the way, walk ye in it." {RH, December 1, 1891 par. 6}

Oh, that men might open their minds to know God as he is revealed in his Son! {ST, January 20, 1890}

One of the criteria of truth, in my mind, is the ease in which it may be understood and/or experienced by children and adults alike.

I agree. If a doctrine is long, complex, and difficult to understand, it probably ain't truth.

Good to see you back.

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." Eccl 12:13.

It really is this simple. It's not difficult to grasp. Doing it moment by moment every day is . . .

Simple, but as done in days past, people will make up all kinds of things and ways to accomplish that simple thing.

Any idea or insight that takes away from this simple formula misses the mark. It amazes me (and saddens me) how people can spin the simple the truth and conclude - living in harmony with God's will cannot be done day by day, moment by moment.

So, what I conclude from the highlighted phrase, is that you feel that people CAN live in harmony with God's will day by day, moment by moment.

Therefore:

1. You must yourself be living in such a manner, because

2. If you're not personally doing this, you would conclude that people CANNOT live thusly

3. So, since you assert this, you must be living thus, and

4. Since "living in harmony with God's will" is a life without sin (since I cannot imagine or agree that God's will includes you sinning) therefore:

5. You are at this time living a sinless life.

Have I got that straight?

Nadi, nowhere in the Bible are we commanded to proclaim - "By the grace of God I am sinless" or "By the grace of God I am living a sinless life." Nor are we commanded to proclaim - "I am sinful, therefore, I am unable to live in harmony with God's will on a moment by moment basis. Sinning is inevitable and inescapable." It would be wrong to indulge your question. It takes the focus away from Jesus. Jesus describes newborn babes as though who are simultaneously 1) abiding in Jesus, 2) partaking of the divine nature, 3) walking in the Spirit, and 4) walking in the mind of the new man.

1) Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not . . . 1 John 3:6
2) . . . be partakers of the divine nature . . . 2 Peter 1:4
3) Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16
4) . . . put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:24

1 Peter 2
1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
