Spinning the "family document". and the early-rising family member who “blesses” sleepers “with a loud voice” (Prov. 27:14, NKJV).
What it actually says: Proverbs 27:14 He who blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, It will be counted a curse to him.
The idea is the friend who comes over early in the morning and says things like Rise and Shine! Not "the early-rising family member". Because it is NOT a "family document". I agree that it is referring to a friend or to a neighbour: Proverbs 27:14 ESV says, "Whoever blesses his neighbour with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, will be counted as cursing."

The idea is the friend who comes over early in the morning and says things like Rise and Shine! Not "the early-rising family member". Because it is NOT a "family document". But it IS a "family document", being a message directed from parents to child. One is at liberty however to APPLY it in other scenarios, but it is what it is. However, you are correct in catching 'the strange interpretation' given to Prov. 27:14 which was a warning not to put any trust in man -- to be wary of sudden gifts from acquaintances. "It will be counted a curse to him" ... to whom? To the one -- to the 'friend' -- who is blessed so unusually and so unusually early in the day. Something is afoot and something will be required. Watch out! ///

Who are the "sons" and "children"? Proverbs 1: To know wisdom and instruction, To perceive the words of understanding, To receive the instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity; To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion- A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,
Proverbs 8:32 "Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways.
Who is speaking here?

Wednesday: In the Song of Solomon, we find some of Scripture’s most compelling evidence for God’s plan that people remain sexually chaste until marriage. One of the most powerful is a reference to the Shulamite’s childhood, when her brothers wondered whether she would be a “wall” or a “door” (Song of Sol. 8:8, 9). In other words, will she remain chaste until marriage (a wall), or be promiscuous (a door).
Interesting spin. Where do they come up with the speculation that it is her brothers talking? (Some NKJ versions reference "brothers", but why?) Where do they come up with the speculation that it is her in her previous childhood and not some other current girl? (Like the Gentiles?)
