The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, its probably deserved. Russell Lynes

I ran across the following poem that was quoted by Martin Luther. There is some discussion as to where Luther received his revelation, and some believe that in Luther's writings when he refers to receiving the insight in the "cl" it refers to the latrine or privy. This is a minority view, however the poem is interesting in light of the history. Devil: Monk on the latrine! You shouldn't be reading matins here! Monk: I am purging my bowels While worshiping almighty God. You can have what goes down While God gets what goes up. It may be considered a bit earthy, but it gives a bit of insight into Martin Luther's thinking.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you are the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying. --------------------------------------------- From: Thinking out lifes trials. ------------------ Examine me, O LORD, and prove me: try my reins and my heart. Ps.26:2 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in men.Ps.118:8

“The great truth is that women actually like men, and men can never believe it.” --- Isabel Patterson “By all means marry; if you get a good wife, you’ll become happy; if you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher.” --- Socrates “Marriage isn’t an amusement park that you exit as soon as the fun comes to a stop. It’s a relationship you believe in enough to stick around until the fun returns.” --- Martha Bolton
