1. Birds of a feather flock together and mess on your car.

2. There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

3. When I'm feeling down, I like to whistle. It makes the neighbor's dog run to the end of his chain and gag himself.

4. If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

5. Don't assume malice for what stupidity can explain.

6. A penny saved is a government oversight.

7. The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing in the right place, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

8. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat are really good friends.

9. The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

10. He who hesitates is probably right.

11. If you think there is good in everybody, you haven't met everybody.

12. If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

13. The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble.

14. Living on Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun.

15. The mind is like a parachute; it works much better when it's open.

16. The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth!

I like them, Cathy. The one about the birds would be good for the bird-watcher's forum.

About #16--That's a good reason for avoiding the "backslider's ditch!"

People told me to cheer up, things could be worse, so, I cheered up, sure enough, things got worse.

The directions for a drive up ATM are also written in Braille. Why?

Only in America... do people use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place!

Only in America... do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front of the store.

When a woman is Hungary, she says "Roast something for the children that they may eat."

There is no medicine to cure hatred.

Even though the old man is strong and hearty, he will not live forever.

It is the calm and silent water that drowns a man.

What is bad luck for one man is good luck for another.

He who cannot dance will say: "The drum is bad."

No one tests the depth of a river with both feet.

When the moon is not full, the stars shine more brightly.

He who hunts two rats catches none.

If you burn a house, can you conceal the smoke?

He who asks questions, cannot avoid the answers.

She is like a road -- pretty, but crooked.

The heart of the wise man lies quiet like limpid water.

Rain does not fall on one roof alone.

What is said over the dead lion's body, could not be said to him alive.

Love is like a baby, it needs to be treated tenderly.

The teeth are smiling, but is the heart?

Great events may stem from words of no importance.

You do not teach the paths of the forest to an old gorilla.

A little subtleness is better than a lot of force.

Two birds disputed about a kernel, when a third swooped down and carried it off.

I guess that's enough for today, huh! May your Sabbath blessing of tomorrow begin today.

------------------
And the second is like it . . .

We start as fools and become wise through experience.

Do not leave your host's house, throwing mud in his well.

Do not call to a dog with a whip in your hand.

Even an ant may harm an elephant.

He who upsets a thing should know how to rearrange it.

Do not tell the man who is carrying you that he stinks.

"Do not tell the man who is carrying you that he stinks."

That'd be a good way to get dropped!

Do people in Australia call the rest of the world "up over"?
Does killing time damage eternity?
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?
Why is it called lipstick if you can still move your lips?
Why is it that night falls and day breaks?
Why is it that when you are driving and looking for an address, you turn down the radio?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Do pilots take crash courses?
Do Roman paramedics refer to IVs as "4's"?

God bless!

The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't know what you're doing, someone else does.

Interesting - the message said I could not post this message because 60 seconds had not passed. Then it posts it twice. Guess the fourm powers that be figured that the proverbs were so powerful that they needed to be posted twice!!!!

If your mouth turns into a knife, it will cut off your lips.

The monkey does not see his own hind parts; he sees his neighbors'.

Invite some people into your parlor and they will come into your bedroom.

A roaring lion kills no game.

I deleted the double post.

Shouldn't there be a shorter word for "monosyllabic"?

What is another word for "thesaurus"?

When they ship styrofoam, what do they pack it in?

Why doesn't "onomatopoeia" sound like what it is?

Why do 'tug' boats push their barges?

Why do we sing 'Take me out to the ball game', when we are already there?

Why are they called 'stands' when they're made for sitting?

Why is there only ONE Monopolies Commission?

Why does one get in trouble for WRECKless driving?

Why is it when two planes almost hit each other it is called a "near miss"? Shouldn't it be called a "near hit"?

God loves everyone, but probably prefers "fruits of the Spirit" over "Religious nuts".

Wisdom has two parts:
1. Having a lot to say
2. Not saying it
