Food! Anything with food brings folks in. I haven't seen an Adventist crowd yet that didn't like to eat. Sometimes I have found that to be annoying, especially when they preface prayer meeting with a soup supper.
On the positive side, weiner roasts, taco salad suppers, and sandwich suppers are easy and bring folks out. Make up a list of the needed food items, have people sign for what they will bring, set the time and place. People will show up. After the meal, use games or videos or both. By videos I am not referring to movies. There are a lot of interesting documentaries and the like that people enjoy. If you do it on Sabbath evening, begin with vespers, then follow with the meal and whatever activities you have planned.
The winter we are going back to game nights, inviting in the young people from the neighborhood. Besides games and videos, a few of us are also planning on having a crafts table. We'll have to see how that part goes.
