A few Ellen White statements of Protestant activity in the U.S. the nation that enforces the Sunday laws then puts pressure on other nations to follow suit. According to my study and understanding.

AKA Evangelicals I believe.

Quote
With rapid steps we are approaching this period. When Protestant churches shall unite with the secular power to sustain a false religion, for opposing which their ancestors endured the fiercest persecution, then will the papal sabbath be enforced by the combined authority of church and state. There will be a national apostasy, which will end only in national ruin.?Manuscript 51, 1899.

.
Quote
The Protestant world today see in the little company keeping the Sabbath a Mordecai in the gate. His character and conduct, expressing reverence for the law of God, are a constant rebuke to those who have cast off the fear of the Lord, and are trampling upon His Sabbath; the unwelcome intruder must by some means be put out of the way.?Testimonies for the Church 5:450
.

Quote
The Protestants of the United States will be foremost in stretching their hands across the gulf to grasp the hand of Spiritualism; they will reach over the abyss to clasp hands with the Roman power; and under the influence of this threefold union, this country will follow in the steps of Rome in trampling on the rights of conscience.?The Great Controversy, 588.

Quote
By the decree of enforcing the institution of the Papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with Spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and Republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan, and that the end is near.?Testimonies for the Church 5:451.

Quote

While the Protestant world is by her attitude making concessions to Rome, let us arouse to comprehend the situation, and view the contest before us in its true bearings. Let the watchmen now lift up their voice, and give the message which is present truth for this time. Let us show people where we are in prophetic history, and seek to arouse the spirit of true Protestantism, awakening the world to a sense of the value of the privileges of religious liberty so long enjoyed.?Testimonies for the Church 5:716.

Quote
The Protestant world have set up an idol Sabbath in the place where God's Sabbath should be, and they are treading in the footsteps of the Papacy. For this reason I see the necessity of the people of God moving out of the cities into retired country [places,] where they may cultivate the land and raise their own produce. Thus they may bring their children up with simple, healthful habits. I see the necessity of making haste to get all things ready for the crisis.?Letter 90, 1897.

Psa 64:5 ...an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

Psa 7:14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. 15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made. 16 His mischief (and his violent dealing) shall return upon his own head.

Psa 7:17 I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

Thank you Teresaq. We are living in a time where these words apply like never before.

In a lot of ways, Seventh-day Adventism is an application of the American Revolution, especially the ideas of Jefferson and Madison as deepened by the age of Jackson, where the next generation was applying these to religion instead of politics.

Medieval Europe developed into catholic Europe (yes, small "c" catholic. Large "C" is the denomination.). In catholic Europe, your religion was basically where you were born. If in the Middle East you'd be Muslim. A bit farther west you would be a type of Eastern Orthodox, then even farther west was Roman Catholic. Eventually the Roman Catholic section divided between Roman Catholic, and Reformed Roman Catholic (Protestants). Woe to you if you were born in one section but wanted to worship God in a different way. Many of the immigrants for "religious freedom" was to grab a piece of land to apply catholic Europe here for a piece of land for their beliefs.

But then... came a man with strange ideas: Roger Williams, who rejected catholic Europe and replaced it with liberty of conscience. That the state has it's job and you have your faith. A similar view was held by William Penn, although his may have come from not finding enough Quakers willing to settle PA to make it a Quaker version of catholic Europe. The ideas of liberty of conscience grew. Even the Roman Catholic state of Maryland, it's first settlement had on one side of town all the public buildings, then the street of homes, and at the other end of town the church.

Jefferson and Madison placed a lot of emphasis on liberty of conscience. We had 8 years of Jefferson, 8 years of Madison, and 8 years of their friend James Monroe. This was 24 unbroken years of this philosophy. Then John Quincy Adams still had to work with this. Then came Jackson, who applied this to the common man (an idea that even Jefferson was worried about). But these four men set up what America was becoming. Jackson's ideas spread beyond Jefferson and Jackson by wondering if it should also be applied to people of all races and women. Lincoln carried this out against slavery, and we inched along to civil rights and women's votes, but still dragging towards these goals. Seventh-day Adventism was born to this view. Americans feared Roman Catholics for fear that they would either grow so large to change America from liberty of conscience and to go back to catholic Europe. John Kennedy showed that he knew the difference between being the Catholic candidate for President of the United States, and being a candidate for President of the United States who worshiped in the Catholic church.

After the American Revolution, came the French Revolution, which was still catholic Europe, but embracing the religion of Secular Humanism.

This was basic American from at least the time of Jefferson (or earlier) through Carter. .Yes, there were some sub groups trying to change this, but they did not carry out until the 1980s where one party eroded liberty of conscience to showing preference to Evangelical Christianity. This lead to the more extreme of the other party to showing preference to the religion of Secular Humanism. For the past 40some years we have eroded liberty of conscience for showing preference for either the religion of Evangelical Christianity, or the religion of Secular Humanism. In trying to push the United States of America into either catholic Europe or French Revolution Europe. We have forgotten a little something called the American Revolution. But after about 40 years of preference for either of the two religions of Evangelical Christianity or Secular Humanism; we have recently had politicians who are moving beyond preference to enforcement of either Evangelical Christianity or Secular Humanism. We need people going into politics who have an education in Roger Williams, William Penn, Thomas Jefferson/James Madison as deepened by Andrew Jackson and broadened by Abraham Lincoln and carried on by women's suffrage, the civil rights movement and John Kennedy showing how even a Catholic can choose to carry on this grand and Godly tradition, and Ellen White's "Great Controversy" can help with this study.

There has never been a time where I've been so worried about an election cycle as I feel this year.
