Well, the baby isn't so new, but between all the events and vacations I haven't had time to post this yet. But here goes:
Nicholas Alexander Marttinen was born on November 1, 2004. He was 7 pounds, 3 ounces.
He's our 4th child. He's now almost 14 pounds. My other children are old enough to be good help. My oldest son was "pounding the computer" at 6 months--let's see when this fellow will get fascinated with it. My daughters are especially good help with the new baby.

Yippee! That's wonderful. I hope he grows up in heaven too. If not, then at least he's a little piece of heaven here on earth.

Congratulations Andrew & family! It's so wonderful having a little one! - mine is almost a year already and still a joy in my heart every day. I pray that your home is as blessed with your new little boy as mine has been with ours.

A belated congratulations to you and your wife. Enjoy each and every one of the little ones. They grow up too fast, move out on their own, then, move back because it is too hard out there, and they bring someone with them. Oops, maybe I shouldn't have told you that, not the surprise is all gone.

Congrats on the "new" baby, Andrew! Now, as for the post by dad (Gerry), it isn't necessarily true that they move out and then come back, probably with someone in tow. I moved out and didn't end up moving back. In fact, sometimes, they move out, get married, produce wonderful grandchildren and bring said monsters back for visits, quite often. Enjoy them while they're young. My boy (Jesse), just turned 7, told me on Thursday, on the way to the store, that he was too old for me to call him "honey" or "baby," etc. He also told me that he was going to call me "mom" and my husband "dad." No more, will we hear "mama" or "daddy." At least not from him. Still have second monster (Amber) to get to that phase. Andrew, enjoy every moment you can with that sweet baby! Kiss him often, always tell him you love him and pray with and for him. God bless your growing family!

Hey Angie, sorry Jesse told ya that! Davey still climbs up into my lap when he is upset or hurt and asks me to sing "Mommy's baby boy" for him. You know..."mommy's baby, mommy's boy, mommy's little, little baby boy. Just remember, no matter how old he gets, he is always your baby boy. I still look at Davey and see the little baby I brought home from the hospital 4 years ago today. But he has grown up so much! Ok, enough of that now, I'm gonna start crying! Congrats Andrew on your precious gift from God!
