Brothers & Sisters,
It seems that at times it is easy to think that the people in the old testament were saved by works. When we rely on God and follow Him obedience is a natural result of your faith which is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen.
Romans 4:17-25

23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Romans 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

That applies to all people in all ages.

Hebrews chapter 11 talks about a bunch of God's people in the Old Testament, and it says repeatedly that they did what they did "by faith."
