This is a poem that I wrote when I was rebaptized 3 years ago. Ephesians 1:17-20 became so precious to me that I wanted to set it to "music." Since I am not a musician, I created a melody in words.
THINE IS THE POWER
Dear Father of glory--oh, give me
Your spirit of wisdom to know,
To know You and love You supremely
So the grace of Your Spirit may flow.
Please open my eyes to behold You;
Send forth Your truth and Your light.
I've wandered so long in the darkness,
But You have restored my sight.
I see now the hope of Your calling,
The riches You long to bestow,
Your power toward all who believe
That Your love may help them to grow.
For just as my Lord Christ was risen
By the work of that mighty power,
I'll walk in the newness of living
By faith each and every hour.
Dear Father of power and glory,
I come in response to Your call.
I come to the old cross of Calvary--
To You, Lord, my all and in all!
