With all due respect it appears that our GC President is promoting pacifism and the socialistic programs of Scandinavia. If my reading is correct Sweden, a highly socialized country, has an inordinate number of persons living togther as well as many illegitimate children. There are those in USA who will find little to admire about the hi taxes and the bloated bureaucracies of these countries.

I recently received an e-mail from an SDA in one of the highly socialized countries of Western Europe and you would not believe the paperwork required for a particular situation. What about the church taking some responsibility for care of its own members? That needs a bit of exploration.

I cannot disagree that war is horrible. However, it appears to me to be a bit of engaging in politics which is unseemly. I could say more but...

Did you actually read the article? Your comments were so off the track, I had to go back and read it again to make sure...

His sermon was "promoting" the idea of James 1:27.

And incidently, for what it may be worth and not that it had anything to do really with the point of the sermon, Jan Paulsen is from Norway, not Sweden.

I will not coment on the article, as I have not read it.

As many of your know: I am a combat veteran, and I work with combat veterans every working day. I have found only one combat veteran who believes that now is the time to go to war against Iraq. We who have been there know bettern than those who have not, the real cost of war. We support our country. We support those who will go to war, and place their lives on the line, as we have done. But, our of our respective experiences, we say: Now is not the time.

This is not a pacificist attitude. We have been there.

I have seen too much of the twisting and turnings of of the legal party. I wonder whether he posts on his time or the church time??

It is not for us to promote the attack on Iraq or to engage in the type of activity that is going on at Andrews. Not one of us knows all the facts and I prefer to earnestly pray for our government rather than second guessing it in the area of when to engage its armed Forces.

Our focus should be on the topic rather than on when, where, and under what circumstances a person posted.

Unfortunately, the stock in trade of some posters seems to be sarcasm. I believe that is inconsistent with good Adventism. I fully accept that I must apply this principle to myself as well as to expect it of others.
