Muslims believe that Jesus [they call him Hadhrat Isa (A.S.)] was a prophet of Allah but do not believe that he is God or the Son of God. They do not believe that he was crucified but that he was taken to heaven. At the appointed time he will descend from heaven, end all wars and bring peace to the world.

Muslims believe that Jesus' promise to send the Comforter was a promise that the prophet Muhammad would come. Using the Biblical references in John 14:15, 16 and John 15:26, 27 they believe that the laws, way of life, and book that Jesus said to follow all refer to the Quran [Koran].

An Islamic (holy man?) man wrote, "Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) is not dead, he will most surely return to you before Qiyamat (the Day of Judgement)." They have quite a description of what he will look like and where he will descend when he arrives.

quote:
He will be of average height and red and white in colour. His hair spread to the shoulders, straight, neat and shining as after a bath. On bending his head, it will seem as if pearls are falling. He will have an armour on his body. He will be wearing two pieces of cloth light yellow in color.

He will descend on a Jamaat (group) that will be righteous at the time and comprising of 800 men and 400 women. The people will be preparing for war at the time against Dajjal (the anti-Christ). It will be time for Fajr prayers, and Imam Mahdi will be the Amir (leader). From the darkness of the dawn, a sound will suddenly be heard that "one who listens to your pleas has come" -- the righteous people will look everywhere and their eyes will fall on Isa (A.S.). Briefly, at the time of Fajr, Isa (A.S.) will descend. When descending, Isa (A.S.)'s hands will be on the shoulders of two angels (according to another source (Kab Abrar), a cloud will carry him). On their insistence Hadhrat Isa will introduce himself. He will inquire about their enthusiasm and thoughts on Jihad against Dajjal. Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will descend on the eastern side near the Minaret in Damascus (or in Baitul-Muqaddus by Imam Mahdi). At the time Imam Mahdi will have proceeded forward to lead the Fajr Salaat. The Iqamat of the Salaat would have been said (already recited) and Imam Mahdi will call Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) for Imamat (to lead the prayer), but he [Hadhrat Isa (A.S.)] will instead tell Imam Mahdi to lead the prayer since the Iqamat of that Salaat has already been said for him. Thus Imam Mahdi will lead the prayer, and Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will follow him. After the ruku, he will make this statement: "Allah has killed Dajjal and the Muslims have appeared."

Some of the other things they believe he will do are:

  • He will stay on earth for a period of 40 years after descending.
  • During this period all other religions and mazhabs besides Islam will perish, hence there will be no kuffaars (non-believers) in the world.
  • Jihad will be stopped. [if you listen to the news you will recognize that jihad is holy war]
  • Wealth and property will be in surplus to such an extent that there will be no one to accept the wealth of the other (everyone will be independent).
  • There will be peace, harmony and tranquility during the time of Hadhrat Isa (A.S.)'s stay in the world.
  • There will be no animosity for a period of seven years, even between two persons.
  • For a period of forty years no one will fall ill or die.
  • Snakes and scorpions will not harm anyone to the extent that if a child put his hand in its mouth, he will not be harmed.
  • Wild animals will not harm anyone.
  • The camels will graze among lions, cheetahs with cattle and the jackals with goats.
  • The fertility of the land will increase to such an extent that even if a seed is planted in a hard rock, it will sprout.

quote:
After his descension on earth, Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will marry. He will have children, and he will remain on earth 19 years after marriage. He will pass away and Muslims will perform his Janaza Salaat and bury him net to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam). (Tirmidhi)

Fearful sights of a supernatural character will soon be revealed in the heavens, in token of the power of miracle-working demons. The spirits of devils will go forth to the kings of the earth and to the whole world, to fasten them in deception, and urge them on to unite with Satan in his last struggle against the government of heaven. By these agencies, rulers and subjects will be alike deceived. Persons will arise pretending to be Christ Himself, and claiming the title and worship which belong to the world's Redeemer. They will perform wonderful miracles of healing and will profess to have revelations from heaven contradicting the testimony of the Scriptures.

As the crowning act in the great drama of deception, Satan himself will personate Christ. The church has long professed to look to the Saviour's advent as the consummation of her hopes. Now the great deceiver will make it appear that Christ has come. In different parts of the earth, Satan will manifest himself among men as a majestic being of dazzling brightness, resembling the description of the Son of God given by John in the Revelation. Revelation 1:13-15. The glory that surrounds him is unsurpassed by anything that mortal eyes have yet beheld. The shout of triumph rings out upon the air: "Christ has come! Christ has come!" The people prostrate themselves in adoration before him, while he lifts up his hands and pronounces a blessing upon them, as Christ blessed His disciples when He was upon the earth. His voice is soft and subdued, yet full of melody. In gentle, compassionate tones he presents some of the same gracious, heavenly truths which the Saviour uttered; he heals the diseases of the people, and then, in his assumed character of Christ, he claims to have changed the Sabbath to Sunday, and commands all to hallow the day which he has blessed. He declares that those who persist in keeping holy the seventh day are blaspheming his name by refusing to listen to his angels sent to them with light and truth. This is the strong, almost overmastering delusion. Like the Samaritans who were deceived by Simon Magus, the multitudes, from the least to the greatest, give heed to these sorceries, saying: This is "the great power of God." Acts 8:10. (GC 624)
--------------------------------------------
Spiritualism is about to take the world captive. There are many who think that Spiritualism is upheld through trickery and imposture; but this is far from the truth. Superhuman power is working in a variety of ways, and few have any idea as to what will be the manifestations of Spiritualism in the future. The foundation for the success of Spiritualism has been laid in the assertions that have been made from the pulpits of our land. The ministers have proclaimed, as Bible doctrines, falsehoods that have originated from the arch-deceiver. The doctrine of consciousness after death, of the spirits of the dead being in communion with the living, has no foundation in the Scriptures, and yet this theory is affirmed as truth. Through this false doctrine the way has been opened for the spirits of devils to deceive the people in representing themselves as the dead. Satanic agencies personate the dead, and thus bring souls into captivity. Satan has a religion, he has a synagogue and devout worshipers. To swell the ranks of his devotees he uses all manner of deception.

The signs and wonders of Spiritualism will become more and more pronounced as the professed Christian world rejects the plainly revealed truth of the word of God, and refuses to be guided by a plain "Thus saith the Lord," accepting instead the doctrines and the commandments of men. Through rejecting light and truth many are deciding their destiny for eternal death; and as men reject truth, the Spirit of God will gradually withdraw itself from the earth, and the prince of this earth will have more and more control over his subjects. He will show great signs and wonders as credentials of his divine claims, and through Spiritualism will work against Christ and his agencies. (ST, May 28, 1894)

Another influence which is preparing Muslems for the personation of Christ by Satan is the messages of the so-called Virgin Mary. The most significant apparition is the one which took place in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. The messages which originate in the Fatima experience are the ones which are directed the Papacy today and it is the message which all of the other message from Mary build upon. It is not an accident that Muslems do not worship idols. In fact they will allow no statues in their mosques--except one, sometimes. It is a statue which represents one of either two important historical figures in Muslem history. The deny worshipping the statue as an idol, none-the-less it can sometimes be found in their mosques. It is a staue of a woman that may either represent the historical figure who most represents motherhood or daughterhood. In the Koran the supreme mother, (who the statue sometimes represents)is clearly spoken about. Her name is Mary. She was the mother of Jesus Christ. The other figure in their history whi represents daughter-hood was Mohammed's neice, though in her life she fulfilled the role of a daughter. Her name was Fatima. In Moslem areas of Northern Africa where there is significant Catholic presence, when the Mary of Fatima stautue is marched through town on the Catholic procession dates, the Moslems will reverence and bow down to the statue as it passes by. Satan has been preparing for this final hour for literally hundreds of years.--Selah.

Okay just to clear up a possible bit of confusion, The following is from Share Int.,A website put up for the promotion of Maitreya. I am in no way associated with it or a proponent of the following of Maitreya. The below quotes are simply for educational purposes only, so no more will be deceived by this false Christ.
*********************************************
Maitreya and Jesus
---------------------------------------------

Jesus of Nazareth and the Christ are not one and the same person. This is one of the most difficult claims for many Christians to accept in connection with Maitreya, the World Teacher, and it therefore needs some further explanation.

In fact, the title Christ does not refer to an individual at all. It is the name of a function in the Hierarchy of Masters of Wisdom, that group of advanced beings who guide the evolution of humanity from behind the scenes. Whoever stands at the head of this Hierarchy automatically becomes the World Teacher, known in the East as the Bodhisattva, during the term of his office.
Maitreya, who embodies the energy we call the Christ Principle, has held that office for over two millennia. In Palestine he manifested himself as the Christ to inaugurate the Age of Pisces, then beginning. The method he used is called spiritual overshadowing, that is, his consciousness informed and guided the actions and teachings of his disciple Jesus. It was, therefore, the consciousness of the Christ, Maitreya, which was seen and experienced by those around Jesus.
The events from Jesus' life and his words have been greatly misinterpreted due to this little-understood connection between his work and that of Maitreya the Christ. This has given rise to the age-old theological point of contention -- namely, whether Jesus was God or man, or perhaps both together. The answer is that Jesus was a man who, as a result of the process of evolution, became a Son of God -- as does everyone eventually. Others had gone before him on that path and many have taken it since.

The disciple Jesus of 2,000 years ago has by now become one of the most senior Masters in the Hierarchy: the Master Jesus. During most of the current time he has lived mainly in Palestine. Since 1984, however, he has lived in Rome. The intention is that he will try to raise the Christian churches out of their state of crystallization and rivalry and, if invited to do so, to lead a newly united church. By doing so he hopes to resolve the many contradictions and misunderstandings which have arisen during the course of the centuries about his historic role and the teachings which he then disseminated as a vehicle for Maitreya.

With the emergence of Maitreya, the Master Jesus is playing a major role for the second time. This open collaboration, which will be visible to all, will end any lingering doubts concerning the true relationship between Maitreya the Christ and his disciple, the Master Jesus.

Thus the seemingly paradoxical claim that Jesus and the Christ are not the same person, in the literal sense of the word, is more reasonable than it would appear. Those Christians who find it difficult to accept that 'their' teacher is not the highest leader of all humanity may, however, take solace in a second paradox: Jesus and Maitreya the Christ were (and are) one, in the sense that they, each on his own level, work together in perfect concord to further the divine Plan.

Quote from Maitreya website:Why does Maitreya appear differently to different people?
BC: Almost weekly, Maitreya appears miraculously ‘out of the blue’ at fundamentalist, orthodox religious meetings around the world, always in a form that the group can recognize -- if they are Hindus, as the people’s idea of what Krishna will look like; if Jews, as their idea of the Messiah; if they are Muslims, as their idea of the Prophet, the Imam Mahdi or the Messiah; if Buddhists, their idea of Maitreya Buddha. He can change his appearance at will. He can be old or young, man or woman, fair or dark.

In this way, everyone can identify with him. He speaks to the gatherings in their own language, and then disappears again. He appeared in this way in June 1988 in Nairobi, Kenya, before 6,000 people who recognized him as the Christ. The event, through photographs, was seen on CNN and BBC television and other world media.
End Quote.

Quote from the Maitreya website:How are we to know for certain that Lord Maitreya is not the false Christ?
BC: There is not only one 'false Christ.' There are several well-known teachers who believe themselves, or are believed by their followers, to be the Christ, and from my personal experience alone I know of scores of deluded people who are convinced that they are the Christ. Discrimination and spiritual recognition are the key. I suggest that on the Day of Declaration, by the overshadowing and telepathic rapport which he will establish with all humanity simultaneously, you will have no doubts about his true status. A tree is known by its fruits and it is by his love, wisdom, spiritual potency and work for humanity that you will recognize Maitreya and know him for what he is.

End Quote.

Wendy, have you read Will Barron's book Deceived By the New Age? I'm not sure whether it's still available in the Adventist Book Center or not. In it he talks about Maitreya as a false Christ.

No I haven't heard about it. The first I learned of Maitreya was on the web. It is very shocking that this demon appears everywhere at will. Out of thin air. Truly this is a sign of the end as his appearances are becoming more and more frequent.

Please, please, please...... be careful of what you read.
Whether you realize it or no, all that you take into your mind has an influence on you.
Reading about this 'demonic' power can influence you to the extent that you might open your mind to invasion.

These powers are not to be trifled with, they, like a snake, can turn around and bite you.

Hi Brother Gerry,

I agree with you. I am being far more careful about things like that, because I have felt warned off by the Holy Spirit. I am not going to place myself on "enchanted ground". God is all-powerful, but He expects us to not place ourselves in situations where Satan can gain a foothold into our minds. Thank you for your warning.

God bless,
Wendy

Thank you, Gerry, for posting such a valid warning!

And, thank you, Wendy, for heeding that warning!

We should all be careful and heed Gerry's warning.
