quote: Kindness the Mark of a Christian My Life Today Page 178
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. Prov. 31:26
Your influence reaches the soul; you touch not a wire but that vibrates back to God. . . . It is your duty to be Christians in the highest sense of the word--"Christlike." It is through the unseen lines that attract you to other minds with which you are brought in contact that may, if you are in constant connection with God, leave impressions that will make you a savor of life unto life. Otherwise, if you are selfish, if you are self-exalted, if you are worldly-minded, no matter what your position, no matter what your experience has been, or how much you know, if you are not having the law of kindness on your lips, sweet fragrance of love springing from your heart, you can do nothing as it ought to be done.
Kindness and love and courtesy are the marks of the Christian. . . . In our association with each other let it be ever remembered that there are chapters in the experience of others that are sealed from mortal eyes; there are sad histories that are written in the books of heaven but are sacredly guarded from prying eyes. There stand registered long, hard battles with trying circumstances, arising in the very homes, that day by day sap the courage, the faith, the confidence, until the very manhood seems to fall to ruins. But Jesus knows it all, and He never forgets. To such, words of kindness and of affection are welcome as the smile of angels; a strong, helpful grasp of the hand of a true friend is worth more than gold and silver.
The true, honest expression of a sister, or brother, or friend, given in genuine simplicity, has power to open the door of hearts which need the fragrance of Christlike words and the simple, delicate touch of the spirit of Christ's love.
This was part of my devotionals this morning and I felt impressed to share with those of you who take the time to read about "our" Chrisitian Life" and how God wants us to be. The following part impressed me this morning.
"no matter what your experience has been, or how much you know, if you are not having the law of kindness on your lips, sweet fragrance of love springing from your heart, you can do nothing as it ought to be done."
Do we really understand what that means? Even if I can quote Scripture, teach the 2300 days, explain all our doctrines, feed the homeless, give to God the tithe that is His, etc., if I do not have kindness on my lips to everyone I come in contact with then what I do will be as nothing. I believe we as Chrisitans realy need to pray about this and come humble before our Father and plead for this kindness to others...yes and to those here on the forums that do not agree with our beliefs, etc. There have been those of us who claim to be "children of God" that have used unkind words to those who do not agree with our thoughts. I believe when we must disagree with someone we only need to state the facts from the Bible/Spirit of Prophecy to back up what we believe is truth. Let the Holy Spirit do the rest. When I have posted what the Bible Or the Spirit of Prophecy has to say on a matter and if someone else chooses to continue in going against that council...well that is their choice. I do not have to come back and say anything to them that could close the door between that person and me.

Very well posted, Avalee, and all so very true. This reminds me of another Bible text: quote:
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
I guess it boils down to what motivates a person to do this or that, to say this or that, to post this or that, or to react this way or that way.
When we disagree with something, we all need to learn to disagree with it agreeably. Does anybody know what I mean by that?
