Maritime SDA OnLine now has another new Chat Room known as Chat Room #1 in the Navigation Bar on the top of most of the pages of MSDAOL.

It reguires me to register in advance those of you who are interested.

After I have registered you, it can also then be accessed at the following link:

http://www.maritime-sda-online.org/chat/maritime1.php

Except for the Forum Moderators, most of you will be registered as you are registered here, with the same username and password. The forum Moderators will have the same username but will need to choose their own password that should probably be different from the one used in the forums of MSDAOL.

Actually, once you are registered, anybody can then also change their password.

If you wish to be registered there, please make your request known here, by email, or by PM.

If you are registered there, but still have problems logging on, please also let me know about it here.

Your password is the same as the one you use to log into MSDAOL.

I discovered that the _ between your name, such as in Daryl_Fawcett, isn't necessary, therefore, anybody wishing that to be removed so you can log on there simply as Daryl Fawcett, V. Hahn, or whoever else is using two or more names in their username, please let me know, and I will update the membership list there and here accordingly.

Here are the command options for this new Chat Room:

/? Lists the command options within the room itself for users or the moderator command options for admins.
/away Sets user as away. Typing this command again sets user as "here".
/here Sets user as here. This reverses the "away" and "busy" states.
/busy Sets user as busy. Typing this command again sets user as "here".
/back Shows the last entries of the room's chat, including any chat text that was present before arrival to the room.
/backtime Shows the last minutes of the room's chat, including any chat text that was present before arrival to the room.
/clear Clears the chat screen. This only affects your screen, not the screen of other users.
/me Issues an IRC-like "action" to the chat. "/me" will be changed to your user name, and the text in will appear as a system message. For example: "/me is thinking" would translate to "Joe is thinking".
/join Switches the user to . For example: "/join The Lounge"
/part Logout of the chat.
/quit Logout of the chat.
/logout Logout of the chat.
/version Shows which version of the chat you are using.
/invite Invites "user" to the room that you are currently in. If the user's name has more than one word, then it must be enclosed with quotes.
/ignore Ignore "user". If the user's name has more than one word, then it must be enclosed with quotes.

There were some of us in there last Friday evening.

I am hoping, however, to see some of us in there more often than that.

As a result of the latest email update about this new Chat Room, I have registered a few more people there that I will edit into the post containing that information.

I updated the Navigation Bar at the top of moast of the pages to show both Chat Rooms.

Chat Room #1 is the New Fully Featured Chat Room.

Chat Room #2 is the Old Not Fully Featured Chat Room. I may eventually be removing this one.

With several new registations over the last few days I have finally upated the membership list in the 2nd post of this topic.

Besides the nightly attempt to meet online around 8:30 p.m. EDT, it would be nice if the Chat Room was visited whenever you get a chance.

Chat Room #1 membership has been updated.

Registered members can enter Chat Room #1 anytime.

Please use Chat Room #1 as not to use it may end up in our removing it as a feature of MSDAOL.

I am happy to see that some of you have been using Chat Room #1 recently.

Chat Room #1 now has an even better intregated look to it.

As a result of a glitch in Chat Room #1 some of you were able to register and access it without the need of a password, however, the glitch has now been corrected, therefore, if that is you, please check and verify your username in the 2nd post in this topic and use the same password as you use here at the forums of MSDAOL.

Somebody registered by the name of Tommy which needs a password added to it, however, as I don't know this person's username at the forums of MSDAOL, I haven't added the password.

If that is you, please give me your username at MSDAOL and I will then add the same password information to your username for Chat Room #1.

Until I add the password, Tommy will not be able to log into the chat room.

somehow this chat is malfunctioning for me now. It keeps saying that I have the wrong ID or password despite using the same loggin info that worked last week...

I doubt the macromedia program can read the Äs and Ös so the chat ID likely has to drop either dotts or change back..
