Robertson warns Bush against dividing Jerusalem
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Etgar Lefkovits, THE JERUSALEM POST Oct. 4, 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Prominent American Evangelical leader Pat Robertson on Monday warned US President George W. Bush against supporting any future division of Jerusalem, warning that such a move would cost him the support of tens of millions of Evangelical Christians who traditionally vote Republican.
The Virginia-based pastor, who ran for the Republican Party presidential nomination in 1998, said that Bush has been a great friend of Israel, but cautioned him against changing his policy in support of a united Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
"Gaza is one thing, but if he touches Jerusalem and he really gets serious about taking east Jerusalem and making it the capital of a Palestinian state, he'll lose virtually all Evangelical support, and they will go and form a third party," Robertson said at a Jerusalem press conference, where he was attending the Feast of the Tabernacles celebrations.
Robertson, the founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network, said the road map is "dead," Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat is out for the destruction of Israel, and the Oslo Accords were "a bad mistake."
While shying away from direct criticism of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's plan to unilaterally withdraw from the Gaza Strip by the end of next year, he said in an earlier Jerusalem sermon that "God says, 'I'm going to judge those who carve up the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It's my land and keep your hands off it.' "
He said that Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia should take in Palestinian refugees, adding that "the Arab nations" are instead interested in preserving the conflict with Israel. He went on to say that while the God of the Hebrews and the God of the Christians is the same, the God of the Koran is a different God.
In the press conference, Robertson also said that the UN agency that deals with Palestinian refugees should be dismantled. "UNRWA should be abolished. It has perpetuated intolerable situation for refugees and kept them in perpetual bondage," he said.
Asked about the agency's acknowledged employment of Hamas members, Robertson said that the UN should not be consorting with terrorists. "This is one more example that this agency is not dealing with an even hand," he said.

It is really too bad that a professed Christian leader can't understand his own Bible! quote: He went on to say that while the God of the Hebrews and the God of the Christians is the same...
That might be true if we're speaking about the ancient (B.C.E.) Hebrews, but modern Jews don't worship the God of heaven.
"Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." -- 1 John 2:23 Just one error among Pat Robertson's many.

Yep. And has there been a time in modern American history when the church has so openly hinted at its power to sway government?
Rumblings of the Beast?

A third party, and a Christian-type party at that, would prove interesting.

Well it is rather interesting considering the fact that we read in Revelation that the beast will make the whole world worship him. In order to do that you need to have power, and this sounds like a growl indeed. God Bless, Will

Remember, worship can't be something that is forced upon people. It can be that people feel pressured, urged or strongly influenced, but not truly by force. Satan tried this in the Dark Ages and it failed.
The Bible does tell us this when we see in Revelation that the whole world 'wonders' after the beast.
Webster's Dictionary- Wonder: a cause of astonishment or admiration
Yes, a time of trouble is coming that will be so bad, that people will be willing to do anything to return to the "good ole days". And they will gladly bow down and worrship that spiritual leader which works miricles that everyone can see, touch and prove to be real. And not just everyone in America, but rather, everyone in the World.

Thats true razorren. I forgot about the forced religion failure (briefly), but I do believe that we may see a combination of pressure, manipulation, and astonishment which will lead people to "freely" worship as one globally. This may be going off topic here somewhat, but I figure that it falls inline with being convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt to worship after the beast.. In many new age circles and other pagan religions there is mention of a Coming One, or Maitreya which is the newage christ (lower cased christ because it is a fake one) who will perform these miracles in front of everyone. Jesus told us what type of things will be happening right before He comes and one of them is that there will be false-christs. What are your thoughts on this as they relate to the "voluntary" worship of the whole world to marvel after the beast. I mean when youthink about marvel.. it has got to be a sight to see, and I am not saying that in anticipation, but more of a be very far away from that\those areas cause your mind may be overcome due to the wonderful sight you will see. The Bible says that satan will and can appear as an angel of light.. What do you think?
God Bless, Will

What seems to make people actually do strange things is deep down soul fear...not just fear of being shot or hung, but terror deep in the soul, like fear of one's dead relatives, evil spirits, or ghosts. Maybe this sequence will motivate people: There will come the Season of Calamity which may cause everyone to face starvation, and then the miracles of Satan to cause soul fear. And even the Muslims may listen to the pope after that.

Didn't that Dayan perseon just break one of the commandments by wishing death on his enemy?. Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for them, and if you are angry with yourbrother you have committed murder, and nothing that defileth will enter into heaven?! Too weird for me you know. It seems eerily uncanny that they are doing the same thing that the anciant Israelites did when they asked for a King, and instead of looking to God as their ruler wanted to be like the other pagan nations with an earthly king, so God gave them Saul..
God Bless, Will
