Famines, and Pestilences, and Earthquakes

The events of the past few weeks, the earthquake and the resulting tsunami in Southeast Asia and, more recently, the mudslides and flooding in California and Arizona, testifies to the fact that time is running out. I am reminded of the following Bible verses:
quote:
Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. It says that all these things are the beginning of sorrows.
What sorrows is it referring to?
What will happen next?

I have heard that the Earthquake in Southeast Asia was considered as great, if not greater, than the great Lisbon Earthquake.
A meteorologist said on local TV that the earth is more rounder now and that this will accelerate the greenhouse effect of the earth. He also showed how the earthquake caused a rippling effect of our oceans around the world.

The meteorologist said on TV today that it is warmer here than it is in Hawaii.
It is 13 degrees celcius here today in the middle of the winter, and it was raining.
In a few hours the temperature will drop to -12 degrees celcius and we will be having snow flurries.
Weird weather is also happening all over the world, and is being noticed and commented about by people like never before.
Hopefully, this will cause people to think about what the Bible has warned them about all of this and they will allow Him to bring their hearts into tune with Him.

The weather down under here in New Zealand is all be on reason. It is supposed to be summer here but we have had floods throughout both Islands. We get an odd day of sunshine where it is hot but get a lot of wind to go with it. Just another sign of the end of time where it says the seasons will be changed. Regards to all with best wishes for this coming year.

Hi - I'm just in boring Ontario. Boring is good compared to going though some of these things. My mom made a comment about all this - something like .... "all these things are so sad - yet it's so exciting to see God's word coming true"

It's going to get worse than the hurricane we had in Nova Scotia in September 2003 and the four hurricanes they had in Florida over the summer of 2004.

Yep, Daryl, I'm one of those in Florida who got 'caned by all three storms, with Ivan coming back to thumb his nose at us while we hunkered under our blue tarp roofs!
The TV newsperson said yesterday, "Don't panic, the world isn't coming to an end" How prophetic...could hardly believe I heard that on national TV. Then they reassure us "this is only mother nature's balancing act", not to worry! Sound familiar?

Here in New Zealand, we have suddenly gone from no summer, no heat, to full on, 30c. It has been so cold that the trees think if is Autumn, and shedding their leaves. You walk into the forest, and the floor is covered in red toadstools - a sure sign of Autumn, and we have 8 weeks before that happens. Nature is confused, but we have no need to be. the word is clear, the earth is waxing old like a garment before our eyes. What is happening next? More of the same, until the people of the land rise up and say enough, let's get back to God. Just as the children of Israel did over and over again. What's wrong with that, you ask? That is when in getting back to God, the Sunday laws will be introduced to the world. Are you ready for Jesus to come? - a question Dell Delker used to sing with the Voice of Prophecy. Timely.
By the way, nice to see a new member here. Welcome, little brother.

All this that's happening is why I started the new topic "If you had $50,000, what would you do with it? But I meant any substantial sum of money. I have a chance to sell some of my land, but I live in the country already so maybe don't need to get further out. I was going to remodel the house, but now have second thoughts with all that's happening. Looks like the beginning of Time of Trouble is coming upon us.

“What Does Bush owe the Religious Right,” Time Magazine, 2/7/05. “The Democrats trying a more soulful tone,” Ibid.
"These are dangerous times for the First Amendment principle of church-state separation," said the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, Americans United executive director. "Religious advocates of all stripes are applying all kinds of pressure on politicians to start passing laws based on their interpretation of the Bible. From James Dobson to Jim Wallis, evangelicals are goading politicians to couch policy-making in Christian terms," Lynn continued. "This is deeply troubling and potentially very divisive. Politicians are not preachers, and political debate should not be turned into religious conflict." Americans United for Separation of Church and State , 2/1/05 "The Religious Right treats our Constitution like a first draft," said Lynn. "They are eager to tack on all of their pet notions and turn their theological perspectives into the law of the land." Ibid, 2/3/05
With daily headlines like this the writing on the wall:
5:26 This [is] the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom [USA], and finished it. 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.Dan.
The "image to the beast" represents that form of apostate Protestantism which will be developed when the Protestant churches shall seek the aid of the civil power for the enforcement of their dogmas... {GC 445.2}
