Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (Heb. 2:14)
Christ's taking part of our humanity is what frees us from Satan's bondage.
No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is truly God and is closest to the Father, has shown us what God is like. (John 1:18)
Christ took human nature to show us what God is really like. When we believe the truth Christ revealed, we are set free. This freedom includes freedom from the bondage of sin, which is the source of our fear.
Sin causes us to view God in a way He is not. When we see God as He is in truth, there is no need for fear.
To know God is to love Him, and there is no fear in love, is another way of putting it. We know God through Jesus Christ's revelation of Him, which against gets back to Christ's taking part of our humanity.
Those who wait for the Bridegroom's coming are to say to the people, "Behold your God." The last rays of merciful light, the last message of mercy to be given to the world, is a revelation of His character of love.

There is a cowardly fear and a salutary fear. We should always fear God, in the sense of being conscious that He will not spare us from the consequences of our sins. This kind of fear keeps us away from sin.
"The love of God ever tends to the fear of God--fear to offend Him. Those who are truly converted will not venture heedlessly upon the borders of any evil, lest they grieve the Spirit of God and are left to their own way, to be filled with their own doings." {UL 371.7}
"’And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear.’ What kind of fear? Not servile fear. ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.’ Every human being should fear to offend God, should fear to lose his favor by engaging in anything of an impure character." {ST, October 3, 1895 par. 5}
"’Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?’ The dying thieves have no longer anything to fear from man. But upon one of them presses the conviction that there is a God to fear, a future to cause him to tremble.” {CC 326.3}
"Under the inspecting eye of God and holy angels many take liberties of which they would not be guilty in the presence of their fellow men, but Joseph's first thought was of God. 'How can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?' he said. If we were to cherish an habitual impression that God sees and hears all that we do and say and keeps a faithful record of our words and actions, and that we must meet it all, we would fear to sin." {CC 75.4,5}
"The expectation of Christ's coming is to make men fear the Lord, and fear His judgments upon transgression. It is to awaken them to the great sin of rejecting His offers of mercy." {DA 634.2}
"When the heart is changed from sin to holiness, there will be a fear of offending God. Such a work of grace will prompt men to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God." {RH, January 6, 1885 par. 14}

Just posting the unmodified rendition of:
Joh 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
