Hi everyone. I would love for us to do a Bible Study on Blessings. What are God's blessings and where do we find them? How do we claim them and the power contained therein?

For starters, I challenge you to read Psalm 103 so we can discuss it here. Blessings. I like blessings. I like waking up in the morning beside my husband. I like having a job to provide for my family. I like being able to walk. I like being able to see. I like being able to sing!! I like being able to read. I like having clothes to wear and a roof over my head. I like my cats and my birds. I like my family. I am blessed to have my mother, my sister, my cousin who is like a sister, my aunt, fantastic in-laws. I am blessed to have friends who are a direct answer to prayer. I am blessed to have a Bible to read (ok, more like 5 to compare!) I am blessed to be in good health to ride my bike, swim and just generally enjoy the outdoors and the sunshine. I am blessed to live in a free country, I am blessed to be a woman. I am blessed to be alive. I am blessed to be able to reach others in ways that I never imagined I would understand. I am blessed because I am loved!! I am blessed because God cares about me and wants what is best for me. Not only does He wants what is best for me, but He provides it for me! He forgives me, He heals me, He redeems me from destruction.

I am blessed.

I am blessed for just having read that. Thank you Sarah. I wish more people would stop to count their blessings. I am blessed to be able to serve the Lord, to go to bed at night knowing all things, both seen and unseen are in His hands and I need not worry about them. I am blessed to know that He is coming soon. Indeed the bleesings are countless.

I am blessed to see Pastor Dan posting here again.

There is a verse in the Bible that says we are prosperous because we are God's Children (I can't remember where it is right now... and I can't find it either.) and Solomon says "a merry heart doeth good like medicine". Is is possible that we focus too much on the negative and not enough on our blessings? We have so much to be thankful for, yet we always find something to complain about - for example, listen to me complaining about complaining!

Well, I almost lit the photocopier at work on fire today, but I am blessed because God didn't allow that to happen! God is good to me, I have a good job I enjoy, He gives us appropriate weather in (and out) of due season and He cares for us always. I am reminded daily of God's blessings in my life, and when I forget to look, all I have to do is go to Pathfinders and see what God has done with my little fledgling group to know that He is always right beside me!

Amen...I found a few verses about this...I don't know if any of these is the one you are thinking of but they are good too...

Zechariah 8:12
For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.

Job 8:6

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

I'm blessed that the Lord doesn't cast away prodigals who repent of their ways and come back to Him. (even though they deserve being cast away!)
