This question was put to me recently. I will be interested to see the responses: Why? Why? Why? Why are you a Seventh Day Adventist? Do you really know why? Can you think of one good reason, why anyone should want to join us in this church, which is so different than most other churches? God will save you, whether or not you belong to the church, so why bother?

Why ? Why ? Why ? Because : Jesus asked me to agree with Him . He taught the Seventh Day Adventists all their doctrines that agree with the Bible. Because : Jesus personally keeps the doctrines He gave to the Seventh Day Adventists. He fortold through the Bible Prophets when & how He would create and develop that body of belivers. Because : Jesus is there through that body of teachings as nowhere else on Earth and He wants me to come to Him where He is and His teachings are officially espoused. So through agreeing with the Bible, following Jesus's personal keeping of these teachings, fulfilled prophecy, organized espousal of all these teachings of Jesus in one body of belivers; I see just where to go. I am not trying to run away from Jesus through relegion, I am trying to run to Jesus through organized religion. An organized body that espouses those teachings and is fortold in prophecy favorably .

If an non-adventist or an unbeliever were to ask me that question I might reply something like there's only one Jesus so there can be only one way. All the doctrinal differences and contradictions in the world is not God's fault. Rather the Devil is trying to prevent us from finding that one and only perfect path that leads to truth and peace of mind. So each of us must seek and find the truth for ourselves. After years of searching I believe that the SDA church has the truth as it is in Jesus, and that in one way or another all the other religions miss the mark. Not that there aren't beautiful people in other churches. But the truth is what ultimately sets us free, and any doctrine that deviates from what the Bible clearly teaches will leave us with a feeling of emptiness.

As a local pastor, I used to tell people that I wanted them to join the SDA Church only if: 1) They beleived that the Holy Spirit was leading them to join the SDA Chruch. 2) They believed that the SDA Chruch was teaching the doctrines that Christ wantaed taught today more than any other denomination, and keeping in mind that anything human should grkow psiritually and had more to learn.

Why am I a Seventh-day Adventist? Because I believe that the Word of God is taught in our church. God has called me to minister in this church and I must do my utmost to answer His call. I have not felt called to minister in other churches, however there are many who are called to minister in other churches and must answer that call. There are many that say they can study and believe the Word without attending church, however, I know that the Bible calls us to fellowship with other believers and that we need the time with fellow Christians to enrich and improve our personal live with God. Without the community of believers and time spent in fellowship with them, relationships die, encouragement is not obtained and faith flounders without the testimony of others.

Why I am a Seventh-day AdventistI am a member of the SDA church because it is the only church I know that believes in keeping the Commandments of God..including the 4th Commandement. Of course we keep these 10 Commandments out of love for God and for our love for mankind. A result of our love for God. The SDA church also believes in other truths from the Bible that sets it apart even from the other churches that keep the Sabbath...Spirit of Prophecy, State of the Dead, etc. In other words we are a movement that believes in following the Bible. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
