This is to announce the passing of Dr. Hope Ravelo early in the morning of Sabbath, July 7, 2007.
Here is the email I received this morning from the pastor of the Fredericton, NB, Canada SDA Church, where she was a member.

Hi Everyone,
I am writing to ask you to announce in your churches that Hope Ravelo passed away early this morning. Hope was well known in this conference so there might be church members interested in knowing that she has died and details of arrangements.
Hope has requested that she be cremated and that Pastor Bob Lehmann officiate the service. To my knowledge Pastor Lehmann is in Alberta until after camp meeting so the memorial service will not be until he returns. I do no think that he knows this yet but Richard Moffit (who is taking care of everything) will be making arrangements.
Hope has been a worker for the Lord's service for many years and has been a teacher, university professor and worked at the Ellen White Estate. She did much of the research for the series of books on Ellen White by Arthur White. She was also the beloved wife of Jun Ravelo who pastored in this conference. Hope was also a prayer warrior who loved Jesus and the ministry of 3ABN. These are some of the details of her life that I remember Hope sharing with me.

Before coming to Fredericton, NB with her husband, Dr. Hope Ravelo was a professor at our very own Canadian University College in Alberta, therefore, there may still be some of our church members there that know her.
Her husband, Pastor Jun Ravelo, while still a pastor at the Fredericton SDA Church, predeceased her several years ago.

I took over as Pastor of the Fredericton, Harvey, and Zealand churches in New Brunswick after Jun assumed new duties for the Lord. It was my high privilege to know Jun and Hope. I look forward to meeting them again in heaven. Heaven is meant for people such as Jun and Hope Ravelo. May we redouble our efforts to finish sharing the gospel so that Jesus can return soon. Amen!
