The Memory Text says: "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18, NKJV).
The text in Sunday's study also says: [quote] "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren" (Rom. 8:29, NKJV).
It then goes on to say, "In the beginning, God made us in His image (Gen. 1:27), but that image has been corrupted by sin." Genesis 1:27 says: "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
In what way were we made "in His own image" in Genesis 1:27?

The Memory Text says: In what way were we made "in His own image" in Genesis 1:27? When Adam came from the Creator's hand, he bore, in his physical, mental, and spiritual nature, a likeness to his Maker. {Ed 15.1} In the beginning God created man in His own likeness. He endowed him with noble qualities. His mind was well balanced, and all the powers of his being were harmonious. {PP 595.2}

There is no excuse for any one in taking the position that there is no more truth to be revealed, and that all our expositions of Scripture are without an error. The fact that certain doctrines have been held as truth for many years by our people, is not a proof that our ideas are infallible. Age will not make error into truth, and truth can afford to be fair. No true doctrine will lose anything by close investigation. RH 12/20/1892

but that image has been corrupted by sin. Here's the other side of the coin: But by disobedience this was forfeited. Through sin the divine likeness was marred, and well-nigh obliterated. Man's physical powers were weakened, his mental capacity was lessened, his spiritual vision dimmed. He had become subject to death. {Ed 15.2} But the Fall and its effects have perverted these gifts. Sin has marred and well-nigh obliterated the image of God in man. {PP 595.2}

My guess is that the human form is approximately what He looks like. That seems to be the case. "I saw a throne, and on it sat the Father and the Son. I gazed on Jesus' countenance and admired His lovely person. The Father's person I could not behold, for a cloud of glorious light covered Him. I asked Jesus if His Father had a form like Himself. He said He had, but I could not behold it, for said He, 'If you should once behold the glory of His person, you would cease to exist.'" {AG 71.2}
