Here is a link to an authoratative site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601I was shocked to read this section from the above: "The ISO year starts at the first day (Monday) of week 01 and ends at the Sunday before the new ISO year (hence without overlap or gap)." Having worked for various Sunday-keeping organisations over the years, I was not surprised when they had calendars beginning on Monday. I thought it was just their habit, but apparrently Australia, along with most other countries, has accepted this international standard. We will soon only have the Jews to demonstrate which day is the seventh. It is worth reading all of this article and its links to give a clear picture of what is happening, and the explanations given for it.

Are we to assume switching the week so that Sunday is the 7th day is tending towards a fulfillment of the universal enforcement of the mark of the beast?
Will papists and protestants then argue we must observe the 7th day of the week as required by the law of God?
What would become of their Sunday arguments, that God switched the Sabbath from the 7th day to the 1st day of the week in honor of Jesus' resurrection, to make a distinction between Jews and Christians?

Very interesting questions, however, could this somehow be connected with the Ten Commandments and getting back to God emphasis that is presently surfacing their heads?

Attempting to make Sunday the 7th day of the week, in an attempt to harmonize with the biblical requirement to keep the 7th day Sabbath holy, could certainly serve a desire to obey the Ten Commandments. However, this means they would have to abandon their current argument asserting God changed the Sabbath from the 7th day to the 1st day of the week in honor of Jesus' resurrection.
Although, I can't imagine any intelligent person believing the 7th day of the week is Sunday simply because the government changed the calendar. Neither can I imagine Satan resorting to this unfounded tactic. Instead, I see him claiming that God has changed the Sabbath from "the seventh day" (see context of quote below) to the 1st day of week. Here's how Sister White explains it:
GC 624 In gentle, compassionate tones he [Satan personating Jesus] presents some of the same gracious, heavenly truths which the Saviour uttered; he heals the diseases of the people, and then, in his assumed character of Christ, he claims to have changed the Sabbath to Sunday, and commands all to hallow the day which he has blessed. He declares that those who persist in keeping holy the seventh day are blaspheming his name by refusing to listen to his angels sent to them with light and truth. This is the strong, almost overmastering delusion. {GC 624.2}

In the last quote Mountain Man provided, how could the devil impersonating Christ speak in this manner if the first day of the week becomes Monday and the seventh day of the week becomes Sunday?
