There have been many, many times of trouble since sin began, including the fall of Jerusalem to Babylon.
However, the classical prophets, while predicting immediate events, and warning their own contemporary nation of the results of sin, also were given extended views to events well beyond the scope of their day.
Thus we are discussing the last great "Jacob's time of trouble". This time of trouble correlates with Daniel 12:1,2 -- after Jesus stands up to execute judgment, (probation has ceased, the plagues fall and evil is unleashed to fully exhibit itself) the world is plunged into a time of trouble such as never was before, and God's people will be delivered.
Incorrect interpretation. Read Jer. 29-30. The time of "Jacob's Trouble" has already been fulfilled. Please be a responsible Bible student. .... ...

His child: Would you say that the judgment of dead and living has ended and time of Jacob's trouble has begun? From my study, the Time of Trouble that Jesus calls the time of Jacob's trouble began yom kippur (9/21/13). The time of trouble peeks when the Sunday law is passed. But when Jacob's time of trouble began, he was fleeing his uncle Laban, who was perusing him. I didn't notice. What happened then? And are you sure yom kippur is in September and not October? (That give you more time to herald your opinion) I guess the time of Jacob's trouble is not very bad at all. Nothing to be concerned about. Thank you for putting us at peace. ---------------- But what time of Jacob's trouble are you talking about. The little one prior to the Sunday law, the one for the wicked, or The time of Jacob's Trouble?

This has been a very informative read. Thanks to all.
Instead of my first statement, would I have been more correct to have said:
"Would you say that the judgment of dead and living has ended and little time of trouble has begun that will soon become the time of Jacob's trouble?"

But what time of Jacob's trouble are you talking about. The little one prior to the Sunday law, the one for the wicked, or The time of Jacob's Trouble? As I have read the postings in reply to my original post, I have to restate: His child: Would you say that the judgment of dead and living has ended and LITTLE time of Trouble that is soon to become the time of Jacob's trouble has begun? From my study, the Little Time of Trouble that leads into what Jesus calls the time of Jacob's trouble began yom kippur (9/21/13). I don't know of any special event that made the news. But Yom kippur is in either Sept or Oct every year. This year it was on 9/23/13. From my study of Daniel and Revelation, I learned the the judgment of the dead transitioned to the living and that ended 2/14/13. In my quick study, I jumped from the LITTLE time of trouble to Jacob's Trouble. But thanks to those who took time to read a little more carefully, my lack of knowledge has been educated a little more.

Instead of my first statement, would I have been more correct to have said:
"Would you say that the judgment of dead and living has ended and little time of trouble has begun that will soon become the time of Jacob's trouble?" I don't believe probation has closed for everyone yet, no. If you were where I am, you would probably agree. Yes, the light has been around for a long time in the Americas, and the light is fast becoming darkness there. But not so here in Asia. The light is still increasing, from nearly total darkness. I rejoice to have opportunities here and there to share with people who have never before heard why Jesus came to earth. If probation has truly closed, would you be telling all of God's missionaries to cease from their labors and go find a cave to weather out the coming storm? I suggest you thoughtfully weigh the results of such a belief as that probation has already ended. I urge you to continue to share the Good News with as many as will receive it before that awful hour arrives. God is merciful who will not shut that door too soon, but who waits for us to come to Him until the last possible moment. Then should we also not with Him continue to spread God's Word to our utmost? Blessings, Green Cochoa.
We can receive of heaven's light only as we are willing to be emptied of self. We can discern the character of God, and accept Christ by faith, only as we consent to the bringing into captivity of every thought to the obedience of Christ. And to all who do this, the Holy Spirit is given without measure. In Christ "dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him." [Colossians 2:9, 10.] {GW 57.1} -- Ellen White.

What we often call the "little time of trouble" takes place BEFORE probation closes. "The Lord has shown me clearly that the image of the beast will be formed before probation closes; for it is to be the great test for the people of God, by which their eternal destiny will be decided. {2SM 80.4} On page 33 (of Early Writings) is given the following: "I saw that the holy Sabbath is, and will be, the separating wall between the true Israel of God and unbelievers; and that the Sabbath is the great question to unite the hearts of God's dear, waiting saints. I saw that God had children who do not see and keep the Sabbath. They have not rejected the light upon it. And at the commencement of the time of trouble, we were filled with the Holy Ghost as we went forth and proclaimed the Sabbath more fully." {EW 85.2} "The commencement of that time of trouble," here mentioned does not refer to the time when the plagues shall begin to be poured out, but to a short period just before they are poured out, while Christ is in the sanctuary. At that time, while the work of salvation is closing, trouble will be coming on the earth, and the nations will be angry, yet held in check so as not to prevent the work of the third angel. At that time the "latter rain," or refreshing from the presence of the Lord, will come, to give power to the loud voice of the third angel, and prepare the saints to stand in the period when the seven last plagues shall be poured out. {EW 85.3}
The trouble builds up over time. It will be some sort of trouble in the world that will allow for Sunday legislature under the guise of "returning to God". As Sunday is agitated due to turmoil in the world, and governments start making laws to "protect" Sunday from secular pursuits, believers will boldly proclaim the Sabbath more fully -- it will be a tremendously powerful last call to worship the Creator God Who is our Father in heaven, instead of bowing to the human "spiritual father" who thinks to change God's holy time and laws. Probation will still be open, Christ will still be ministering in the sanctuary, and oh how we pray that all our loved ones will see and fully commit before it is forever too late. But don't wait till you see this before seeking the Lord. Seek him NOW, today is the day of salvation. Many will fall by the wayside because they did not establish a vital relationship with their Creator during the times of relative Peace. Just at what point probation closes we will not know. The Sunday issue will escalate fast, and when God sees the message of the last loud cry has done its work, Christ will cease his priestly work and fully release the restraints on evil. Then the earth is plunged into a time of trouble such as never was. The plagues will fall. But for the faithful the most agonizing time will be just after the plagues become evident and especially after the death decree goes forth, for then they understand probation is closed. The most urgent thing now is to spread the truth about the three angels messages. Eternal life or eternal death is in the balances.

I don't know of any special event that made the news. But Yom kippur is in either Sept or Oct every year. This year it was on 9/23/13.
Could you show that to be true? I believe some would disagree. I just want to know how you know this.
