Have you noticed any similarities between the messages Pastor Batchelor has been sharing, and the view of rebirth and victory I've been posting on MSDAOL for the last few years?

Did you notice that he has to beg the congregation to say - Amen! What do you think? What comes first - victory over sin or revival? What is the cause and which one is the effect?
1. Is righteousness by faith the fruit of revival?
2. Or, is righteousness by faith the root of revival?

Could it also be about church culture. In some churches everyone says "amen" confirming what is preached while in others noone says "amen" aloud under any circumbstances or unless directly encouraged to do so by the preacher.
About your question. Righteousness by faith leads to revival which leads to more rightousness by faith etc. When a group of people really search for God with all thir heart He will be found which others will notice and join the group to search which leads to more people finding God and so on, ie revival.

LDE 189, 190 A revival and a reformation must take place, under the ministration of the Holy Spirit. Revival and reformation are two different things. Revival signifies a renewal of spiritual life, a quickening of the powers of mind and heart, a resurrection from spiritual death. Reformation signifies a reorganization, a change in ideas and theories, habits and practices. Reformation will not bring forth the good fruit of righteousness unless it is connected with the revival of the Spirit. Revival and reformation are to do their appointed work, and in doing this work they must blend.--RH Feb. 25, 1902. {LDE 189.3}
GC 478 It is only as the law of God is restored to its rightful position that there can be a revival of primitive faith and godliness among His professed people. {GC 478.3}
GC 464 Notwithstanding the widespread declension of faith and piety, there are true followers of Christ in these [non-SDA] churches. Before the final visitation of God's judgments upon the earth there will be among the people of the Lord such a revival of primitive godliness as has not been witnessed since apostolic times. The Spirit and power of God will be poured out upon His children. At that time many will separate themselves from those churches in which the love of this world has supplanted love for God and His word. {GC 464.1}

Doesnt finding God involve the work of the Holy Spirit? I just assumed it as obvious that the Holy Spirit is a vital part of such a revival.
If not, could you clarify/comment?

Mike asked, quote: Did you notice that he has to beg the congregation to say - Amen! What do you think?
I understand that prior to the start of this series, the congregation was asked not to clap. Maybe being deprived of that, they don't know how else to act!
I went to the Eastern NC Campmeeting at Oak Island weekend before last, and it seemed that the brethren there wanted to clap at everything that moved. I've seen less clapping at secular gatherings.

Yeah, John, I know what you mean. I was speaking at an outdoor gathering in North Carolina (I think it was back in April), and people were clapping alot. It seemed as though they were clapping at everything I said. Sometimes it was completely inappropriate. So, finally I asked, "I'm curious, why are you clapping so much?" As it turns out, most of the time they were killing the mosquitoes that were buzzing around their faces. Ha!
But, did you happen to notice that Pastor Batchelor is pretty much saying the same thing I've been sharing here? That is, he keeps saying, if we are abiding in Jesus, we will not commit known sins? Did anybody else, besides me, hear him quote 1 John 3:6?
1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not.

I don't know if I'm alone here, but I believe I could see a renewed sense of urgency and seriousness in Elder Batchelor's 04Revival messages. IMO these are the most powerful sermons I've ever heard him present. These are present truth messages that we and our church needs for these last days of preparation.
Does anyone else feel this way? Can I hear an AMEN?
Maranatha,
Ted
