Some SDA's have ruined their lives and wasted all their time trying to find a "Soul Mate." When God knew His plans for them all along. If they had put the matter in His hands and left it for Him to solve in His own time, they would have had rest & peace of mind and could have focused on what ever it was He wanted Him to do with their life.
Proverbs 3:
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Psalms 37:
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 ¶ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Jesus spoke of stages of growth in a persons life. the seed & sprouth nor green wheat was harvested as grain. It was allowed to grow to harvest time maturity, then the farmer & crew would harvest. So also with romance. When the person is physically, mentally, and spiritually ready and prepared for romance - then God sets the stage. Things will move with God's blessing & authority.
But Satan loves to tangle romance into hormones & eros alone. Things start way too soon years before the people are prepared for it, or have God's opening up of the door to it, under his blessings, and what could have become the best when God built things in His time, are become a detour or permanant exit of God's plans for the persons.
Mary was called by the angel Gabriel when God was ready to work through her. She had not called Him, to please send someone quick. When He saw the time was right He took action. There is a lesson there.
Do God's work and follow him and leave the problem of romance in His hands as His problem to solve when He is ready. When He is ready He will solve it.
God put the capacity for romantic desires right into human development. His first recorded command to Adam & Eve whom He created and brought together and married was , be fruitful and multiply. God knows peoples feelings & urges better than the person having them. To see how a person brings all their feelings & urges & needs to God and leaves them with Him & sublimates those energies into duties that have been revealed for them, is preperation for the very future romantic opportunities they desire.
Matthew 11:
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
Luke 16:12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
In the today's faithfully do God's work and in due time He will give romance that is better than anything the world can give.
